What is the average age of those who no longer believe?

i have been reading many posts today and some of you have mentioned your age and how long you have been away from the org.made me start wondering what the average age is for most on this site who no longer go along with the org.

it would be interesting to find out..

It becomes like what farmer's in this area sometimes must settle for "deferred wheat payments"
That's where you haul in all you grain to the Elevator but do not expect payment til after the New Year !
Only difference is that you have it in writting... that indeed some day you will receive payment !

To add even deeper to Fipper's thought of fear and guilt how about shame ?
negative emotion: a negative emotion that combines feelings of dishonor, unworthiness, and embarrassment
- - capacity to feel unworthy: the capacity or tendency to feel shame
- - state of disgrace: a state of disgrace or dishonor

how about blame ? self blame if life is difficult !

- - criticize somebody: to find fault with somebody
- - responsibility: responsibility for something wrong or unfortunate that has happened

The fact is, most religions allow you to voluntarily enter and exit. To that end, obedience is less a problem. However, JW's are only voluntarily allowed to enter without censure. To voluntarily leave puts you in line for severe sanctions, especially shunning. That is the mark of a cult .... AllTimeJeff

I believe this quote makes it very clear why Ex-Jw's have such a bad taste in their mouth for the word obedience . Trust and

mutual concern are absolute requirements for any type of obedience to be beneficial and a place of true individual comfort ,

protection and safety. Thank you Jeff ! So true that our greatest obedience must be to our own right to free conscience.

to be true to yourself before you can even considering submitting it to another. I think many at JWD see obedience as an

absolute inretractable course of action and therefore is unacceptable !

I believe that obedience seen in the proper frame of reference and spirit of the motivation is a natural
