  WHAT actually is IMPORTANT?

  i have a sense of life, don't you?.

  i have a sense of what i don't want to spend my time doing, what i'd prefer doing and what i'll only do if i absolutely have to.. don't you?.

  if i find myself running out of time and i can't do everything on my list---i try to do the most important thing.

  Suggestions for JW Girlfriend?

  so i've been seeing this jw girl for a couple weeks now... she kind of contacted me out of the blue (i've known her since i was 4, shes two years older than i) and wanted to hook up for coffee or something.

  i avoided it for about half a month.

  not really avoided it, but was going to have fun with it when it came, because i thought she was just going to try to encourage me to go to meetings and whatnot.. so, first time she calls me up at like 9:30pm on a weeknight to come over to her house... so i ride my bicycle over and go inside and she and her cousin were getting drunk on alcohol and they started getting me to drink.

  Kwin...you obviously don't know me, so I'd have to say you're just trying to be mean. Success! I'm 55 and have successfully raised my children. Needless to say, I'm no virgin.
  
  Mincan, you're right about your self-esteem; but I'm afraid I'm not going to pat you on the head for getting laid by a stoned, confused JW woman you're "trying to help." If you're really concerned about the young lady, you have a strange way of showing it. Based upon your evident need for a self-esteem boost, I'd say you have less than the advertised concern for her needs.

  i saw this on youtube and don't understand how he can make the statement, "i don't follow the watch tower" but i am a jw.

  if you are a jw, don't you follow what the watch tower says?

  Ha! I've heard this before. A person has three choices: be a watchtower follower, leave the watchtower completely (with associated fines and penalties), or try to weasel your way around the Society (have your cake and eat it too). The first two can be permanent situations, the third requires a person to live as a hypocrite, living in two worlds simultaneously. The latter seems like the most difficult of the three situations. Hypocrisy will subtly destroy its possessor.

  BFD...I believe I'm the only one here who has a grip. I don't care if they're "consenting adults" or not. If you take advantage of someone who is weak (whatever the reason), you are in some nasty company.
  
  LOL...sometimes I wonder if many x-jw-ites really learned much from their experience on the inside. Everyone proudly proclaims their "victimhood" readily enough; but when someone is victimized on the outside, it's no big deal. Well...I suppose we'd have to say that all the x-jws here were "consenting adults" and nobody has anything to whine about.

  Why do you put up with crap off your JW famlies?

  i see where many of you have jw family members that give you a ration of crap once in a while; i've heard many rationalizations as to why some of you refuse to speak out.

  as many of you know, i wrote a series of letters and exposed my apostasy formerly; in the letters i told my family they had better beware of shunning me of treating me like a pile when they run into me, i realized that i couldn't make them accept me into their houses, but in public was a different matter.

  i basically told them that in public, especially at funerals, that i would rain down a load of crap on any family member that shunned me or treated me badly in anyway.

  Looks like everyone's found a mechanism to deal with being "out" while family and friends are "in." The whole thing is a freaking corporately-created social nightmare. But it is GENIUS! Just look at what it does to people who are in identical fortunate positions. Shunning is meant to destroy relationships. Jesus meant to build relationships. Shunning is anti-christ. And now maybe we should shun the shunned? Like it or not, lots of us checked our cajones at the tower...and we still haven't found them.

  You're an adult man, right? She was an impaired, vulnerable woman. I don't give a good GD if you WERE virgins (that can never be said again, right?) or it happened once or 1000 times.   As an outsider looking in, I'm seeing an irresponsible young man taking advantage of a mentally-unstable young woman. In my world, that's called a predator.
  
  Don't give me any of that crap about her "being of age," etc, etc. I don't give a damn about "legalities." She is disadvantaged, as you yourself have said...and you're overriding goal is to get in her pants. If she was MY daughter...
  
  You'd better do something to change those predatory "instincts" - or your life is going to be a living hell.
