Most JWs will be relieved. I remember going to a saturday BS. It was perfect...service then the BS. It gave me a free night during the week.
However, after several weeks of the BS change I think many will start to wonder especially folks that have given up career opportunities not to miss meetings.There are plenty of JWs that complain about the sacrifices that they've made and feel like they are struggling unnecessarily when they see the current JWs not pioneering and going after secular pursuits. Plus, where is there reliance on Jehovah? The change is because of gas prices? I don't buy it and I think some JWs will see through it after having a free night to think about it.
I really think this BS change will cause numbers to decline in long run. If they want to get membership up, they need to drop the DF'ing thing and allow folks to celebrate holidays. If they did that, I think the halls would be standing room only.

Have you noticed a faint and broken horizontal line directly above the sig-
nature? As though the original signature were blanked out and replaced?Coco, I noticed it. I also noticed that the text looks angled. I just figured that maybe it was from the scanner.

BS Change

According to the letter addressed to the PO, they can actually read it today (Saturday) if they have the watchtower study today otherwise it will be read on Sunday. Do you know anyone that has a mtg today? You can always go by the KH close to the end of the mtg just to hear the announcement.

Just looked at the letter to the PO. It indicates that the letter can be read after the watchtower study even if its on Saturday (the 26th). So if anyone here has access to meeting tomorrow you should hear the announcement.
Also about the name 'congregation bible study', I know a ton of church people that often mention how they have to go to 'bible study'. They usually have an hour 'bible study' at the church one evening during the week and then sunday services. Next the JW, will allow casual clothes as proper attire at the meetings.

Does anyone remember when they did this to us back in...I think it was 90? I was pregnant I remember that...but the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT that day was that we were doing a BLITZ with FLIERS??? We were to go to every single house in our territory and put a leaflet on every single door and not stop to talk to ANYBODY just keep moving moving moving!!!
I remember they did this in the late 90's like '98 or '99. It was easy time and tons of folks were out in service. Didn't have to talk to anybody. Just leave the tract in the door. Then was it back to the regular ministry, the number of folks going out went back down to normal.
But when they make announcements like this, folks drag all their non-JW relatives to the meeting so they can hear the announcement in case its has something to do with the great tribulation or something.

Long term faders
by scotsman injust reading some of the confirmations re the amalgamation of the group study with the tms/sm i see those that have had conversations with their po have been on the board since 2002 (eg yesidid and alligator wisdom).

You may have faded, but you have actually left.
When I first got on this board, the term fader was really confusing. I would read posts of folks that said they were fading but hadn't set foot in a KH in years. After a few months I realized, that a fader can be someone that is still in the process or folks that have completed the process. I consider myself to be someone that has completed the process. However, I'm still working on the residual damage.
Honestly, I don't know how long-term faders do it. I think I would go crazy.
