No, he never went back to the JW faith. Eventually his sister Latoya, while regular pioneering for many years abruptly disassociated herself. His mom and sister Rebbie (who is married to an elder) are the only two JWs in the family.

JWs Get Paid to Go Door-to-Door!
by cameo-d inthis was just too funny and i have to share with you all.. i was browsing a website called abovetopsecret and there are about 16 pages of different topics about jehovah's witnesses.
some very interesting stuff, and mind you, i think it's mostly "worldies".. .
anyway, i stumbled across a comment where a poster said that they think jws get paid to go door to door.. .

I wrote of as much as I could as well. I knew a number of JWs thought that was less than faithful. They figured it was not a sacrifice if you write it off on your taxes.

So, will Bro. J's "Memorial" be held at the Hall?
by ShirleyW inafter all, remember after the thriller video came out, it was reported that he donated a rather sinful amount of millions to the borg.
that oughtta buy him a spot in the hall for his final appearance, dontcha think?
and if his mother still claims to be in, do you think she just might mention to the local hall in beverly hills to hold his service ?

I remember when he disassociated himself. It was all over the news at the time. I also remember a number of studies stopped studying with JWs when they understood what it meant to DA and that he did it because he didn't want to be DF'd. He wanted to leave on his terms.
I seriously doubt if a JW conducts his memorial, let alone have it at the KH.

Yes, Michael was a baptized witness that DA'd. His disassociation made headlines everywhere. I remember it as if it were yesterday. I remember people wanting to study because MJ was a witness. Back in those days being DA'd and DF'd had two different announcements. Michael wanted his freedom...so he walked right out of the organization.
I really thought he would be around until a very old age, always trying to dance. I couldn't believe he died.
Michael, I'll miss you.

Yes...he was baptized. He was not disfellowshipped but disassociated himself from the witness. Back in those days, there was a different announcement if you DA'd.

Michael was the first man I ever wanted to marry. I loved Michael. I thought he sang just to me. I know he seemed somewhat crazy but it was just a manifestation of all that he had been through.
I hope its a hoax but I know its probably not. But what a solidification that life can be ripped from under us in any moment.
Michael, I'll miss you.
Michael, I'll celebrate you. You lived on your terms.
His death is enough to make me want to post my picture...but I'm not that delirious.

This is nothing compared to the international convention in Germany. In addition to the wave, there was this stomp-clamp thing that everyone was doing, whole sections were shouting stuff in unision and honestly...for about 10 minutes I felt like I was at the World Cup.
Especially after the close of the Sunday session...they went crazy!!!

Newborn!......hush.....you had me at "Hello."
This is exactly what you want to avoid. BTW, when you meet this guy that sweeps you off your feet, ask him he has a tall, good-looking brother that owns a castle. If so, send him my way.

Surprise, My MIL Got Baptized This Weekend
by OnTheWayOut inin recent months, my sister-in-law (sister's sister) got reinstated after about 14+ years out.
i speculated that this may have been because my mother-in-law may want to get baptized.
mil has gone to meetings faithfully for more than 20 years, but never did a lick of field circus and never moved toward baptism because her work related to babylon the great.

OTWO, I wondered how your sister's sister was your SIL and not your sister. Anyway, your MIL has been attending meetings for 20 years? She doesn't see that she's had time to live her life on her terms and now that being a JW in no longer an inconvenience, the system is still here and nothing they have said has come to pass and she still wants to be one of them? Does she really understand the whole shunning thing? Wonder she didn't just stay the way she was, JW by association.
Maybe she thinks thats the system has remained around this long just so Jehovah could draw her to him. But as several COs have said, they don't know how exacting Jehovah will be. He may say that she should have joined earlier in life and that she had full knowledge for 20 years but did what she wanted instead of what he wanted. So let's just imagine the whole thing were true, she would still be wasting her time.

Guys I've been browsing other ex sites (Ex-Mormons, Ex-Scientologist) to see if they have anything near our experience and look what I found
by StoneWall inbeing born and raised a jw i didn't think any other religion or group of people could come close to having to deal.
with what we do as far as loosing family, friends, workmates etc.
because of beliefs.. when i read on ex-mormon and ex-scientologist sites it makes me sad that they too are going thru some horrendous.

Thanks for the link Stonewall. I read through several of the topics and their experiences are very similar to ex-JWs. Lots of code language too. Very interesting stuff.
