Yes, you have to learn to let go and let people come to be where they will be in their own time. In the meantime, you enjoy life and nod and smile.
a question for all those who managed to do it.
when you realize that it's unrealistic to expect someone in the wt to ever leave, and when you see the damage it does you to keep hoping, and to keep trying to get them out, how do you manage the pain?.
what do you do when you know that someone has spoiled the only life that person will ever have, yet you can't reach to them?.

does anyone else have the same problem.
when i'm alone, i am constantly thinking about all the clever things i'm going to say if visited by the elders, but when i actually get confronted, these things never come to mind, and i keep spitting out drivel like some dumb idiot.
after they leave, i rethink the conversation, and i'm furious over all the oppotunities i've missed to put them in their place.......damn it!!!!!
Be in the moment. Don't think of a rebuttal while they are talking. Listen. Pause and formulate your thought. Respond.
They are not appointed by God and hold no power over you. When you talk to them, just remember that they watch porn and interrogate people about the details of their sexual escapades and it will knock them off of whatever holy pedestal you have placed them on in your mind. Try it, you will literally see them get smaller and wonder why you ever feared them.
i cannot for the life of me understand why jehovah's witnesses don't see right through the b.s.
regarding their overlapping generation being equal to one generation.
also, i am a bit perplexed at how little certain jehovah's witnesses know their own doctrine.. take my wife, for instance:.
When they announced that the sealing of the anointed did not occur in 1935, I knew something was up. Asked others what they thought of it and they simply said that we know the light will get brighter as we get closer to the end so many changes are expected. I said that this was a prelude to a change in the generation teaching. They said there was not a need to change it. I said they need to buy themselves more time for older ones to die off and for newer ones to only know the new schpill. A couple of my "friends" stopped talking to me at that point because I was causing them to doubt.
Anyway, there it is, for many these changes are indications that they are getting closer to the end. Many will not question the GB as they are appointed by Jehovah God. They think their JW world is the only place for happiness and everyone else is just pretending. Some are excited by the change. They get a kick out of being able to say they understand it and explaining it to others as if they have an extra dose of holy spirit.
When the towers fell, they rejoiced because they thought the end was here but yet 10 years later...nothing. They are grasping at straws and the ones that see this are afraid to leave for various reasons but primarily fear.
im not sure i understand why we do this.
i met r.franz after i left jws and meeting him was a nice experience.
it was a kind of turning point in my life and i guess his books helped put the final nail in the coffin of my departure from jws.
I don't do it but I do tell people that I will keep them in my thoughts. Because if you're in my thoughts I'm more likely to send a card, stop by with dinner or give you a call to check on you, etc.
I've never been a fan of praying for sick or dying people as I've never understood the point of doing it as it bears no weight in God's eyes. To me its something most people say to dismiss them from any further obligation...just my opinion.

i guess she got tired of him and his claims that he invented sex everytime they made love.....
I'm thinking she found someone else...he seems like the loyal type. Of course, I've never met them and could be completely wrong.
"you would make a good pioneer!".
1. how did one sister feel about her pioneer ministry?.
1 "i could not have found any other work that could have brought me as much contentment or could have been so spiritually rewarding.
How will you fill that vacuum after graduation?
I can think of a number of ways that do not involve pioneering. If only I knew then what I know now.

They have at least that long to play with. It'll change, though. Trust me on that.
I give it less than 5 years.

Thanks for posting the talk in its entirety. I found a couple of points interesting in addition to the Generation recap.
Based on Blondie's example and the definition given of Generation, what common experience is shared by the 96 and 26 year old? It is not clear from the talk. In the talk, the first group experienced one thing and the second group will experience something else. So whats the common experience?
They definitely chose the right person to give this discourse as he has a nice voice quality that could mask the logic gymnastics if you were not really paying attention.
ok. i went from being confused to upset and i'm not even sure why.
after being inactive for 3 years an elder from my old congo request me as a friend and never tries to get me to come back to the hall.
i don't want to return but i at least want t be asked.
He's probably either spying on you or looking for a way out and not sure how to go about it.
this is an excerpt from the final talk of the day, "remain in the secret place of the most high".
i looked around as this explanation was being offered up, and the looks on the faces of people there was mostly disinterest.
this is a very convoluted explanation that reminds me of someone running a con and trying to cobble together an explanation to deal with legitimate objections to their false claims.. http://www.sendspace.com/file/dodp4w.
Wow...I used to go and sit through this?!!!
I like how he makes it seems so accurate because something is in a box on page 25 of the Watchtower publication
Sadly, many will not wake up. The GB has been appointed for reason and who are we to question them.
