They figure ex-jws have intentionally turned their back on Jehovah and the FDS. To them "worldly" folks still have a chance with Jehovah.

Why do JW's hate EX-JW'S more than WORLDLIES?
by african GB Member indo they feel intimidated by the fact that ex-jw's know all about the way they function as an organization?
(well except what happens at the "back room" and at gb decision making meetings)..... is it because they can still "catch" worldlies?.
...or is it because ex-jw's could poison those still in "the truth"?.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition featuring a JW
by startingover inthe story about this was posted here earlier when it all started in fresno, ca.
the community rallied behind this jw family, and one church even gathered enough donations from it's members that they paid off her $25,000 mortgage.. this was in the paper this morning.
she and her family were at the church that donated the money for her mortgage to watch the show.

Did this air yet? How was she the poster child for Easter Seals? That's not very JW. She accepted a donation raised by a church? I'm guessing that it wasn't the JWs.

Where will they put them all?
by wobble inback in the seventies we used to happily repeat the info.
that "all the people who have ever lived are about the same as the present world population" or something similar, from the "aid" book?
as an explanation for how the resurrection was a practical idea.. i was reading on-line the other day that new research puts the estimate at 106 billion!.

I've heard them say several times, and I'm not joking, that in the new system jehovah may begin to use the other planets to accommodate the population after the resurrection. And yes, Wobble they follow that with, " If you really want to know, just make it there and you will find out for yourself". JWs are hilarious and don't even know it.

Church Experiment 10 - JWs - great blog post by an outsider
by passwordprotected inchurch experiment #10: jehovah's witnesses.
the guy who authors this blog is visiting a different church every week for 52 weeks.
week 10 was the jw's turn.. he details many of the things we already know, plus he gives an outsider's viewpoint on the lack of jw internet presence, their hatred of catholics, their parroting of answers and their 'brainwashing' of children.. well worth a read..

Have you tried volunteer work since leaving the dubs?
by yadda yadda 2 ini have been feeling urges to try some volunteer work, to do something with my time to help those less privileged than me.
since i left the jw's, which was quite a few years ago (faded), i've always felt something missing in terms of mingling with a group of people and doing something of a volunteer/charitable nature for others (that's not to say jws do anything charitable really, although some people have been helped to clean up their lives through joining their religion).
i think it would be tremendously fulfilling to try some volunteer work to fill the vacuum of wanting to do kind things for others, something altruistic.

I volunteer often with various organizations and one-off special events. Its very rewarding. There are many opportunities to volunteer your time in areas that interest you.

Now Some Witnesses Are Buying Backpacks To Get Ready For The Great Tribulation!
by minimus insome witnesses are making sure they're ready for the great day.
i've heard certain family members are getting supplies ready including 5 gallons of water, cans of food that can be opened without a can opener, and other "survival" stuff.
they have figured that since the awake (i think) reported how the "friends" got ready for hurricane katrina, they too must be ready for survival when the storm of armageddon rains down.. what will they think of next?.

So where did this idea originate, local elders, the current CO, anything in print?
There is a KM article a couple of years back about having an "emergency kit". I was still attending meetings then but already had a kit because that's just of a smart thing to do. That same night there was letter read about the Book Study conductors getting the contact numbers of everyone in their bookstudy. My BS conductor had an old busy-body sister do it for him...but that's a different story. The letter also talked about knowing where people live in your congregation, etc.
Then probably about 8 months ago, a letter was read regarding having a backpack in case you have to be mobile. People actually got together and went backpack shopping.
