  whom do you trust?

  according to apostates, god and his word can't be trusted because the bible is unreliable and jehovah god is a baby killer and murderer of innocent people.

  trusting the watchtower is out of the question, because obviously, the whole thrust of the apostasy is aimed at discrediting the watchtower so as to create wicked suspicions and distrust in the minds of trusting ones, apparently with some success.

  Yet again I am moved and overwhelmed by the scripture:
  GOD IS LOVE
  God maybe love but there is not much evidence of it in the biblical message.
  One thing that stands out to me whenever I read a JW post or "speak" to one in a chat room is the complete lack of love they have for other people and how they feel they have a God-given right to put on the judges' wig.
  When I left the "truth" I had nightmares about Armageddon. Now I face the future without fear. There's no bravado about that. It's just the way it is when your eyes are open.
  As for You Know I think he is most of the time just venting his true vindictive nature because it must be such a strain putting on the sweet perfect xtian act for meetings and service. He must be panting to rip his God uniform off and hit his pc when he gets in!

  You'll be suggesting that HS is present in judicial committees next lol.
  One of the elders in my former congregation before he was appointed felt he must clear up something with my friend, a young sister. He asked her if she was going to ever mention the fact that several years earlier he had sexually abused her. He said he was very sorry but he obviously was not regretful enough to confess his sins to the elders about to hand him the privelege of overseeing the congregation.
  My friend promised to keep mum which was not hard as she was not exactly dying to shout it from the rooftops as most victims of abuse feel shame themselves.
  This guy is still an elder to this day and the whole pathetic episode was all the proof I needed that HS is not involved in appointment of elders.

  Demonic sex

  i was just wondering whether there was a psychological explanation for why people (women, i think) experience sex, when there's nobody physically there.. there's a lot made of this in dubdom, so i'm thnking there couldbe a connection with the dub 'culture'.. just curious.. philo (honestly, but still a male)

  Dunno if you can dismiss this as wet dreams.It happenad to a friend of mine when she was a witness and it was absolutely terrifying.She was pinned to the bed and raped by an unseen force and she was not dreaming!!It was not the only supernatural experience she had and all her family reported different incidents.I even had a ghostly vision one night when I stayed over. It's unlikely that we all were dreaming our incidents.
  Of course as JW's we were taught that ghosts did not exist and that these weird visions were demonic.That made it even more frightening!!!
  Dunno what I think about it anymore but I don't believe they are dreams.

  Has anyone felt like leaving God altogether?

  .

  after you decided that the wbts, and thus jw's were not god's chosen earthly organization did you feel like you wanted to leave and forget god altogether?.

  Just to answer your questions..
  Larger Mosques provide seperate areas for females to pray. In our city we have 2 local mosques where women are not permitted!When I lived in the middle east with my in-laws I rarely saw any males praying in the house but my M.I.L. was up at 5am every morning prostrating herself and several times during the day.
  Women never take the lead.
  Head covering required especially in mosques.
  Another thing I found strange is in regard to cleanliness. After ablutions and ritual swilling and cleansing a Moslem is fit to pray but if a man touches a woman (such as a handshake) he is unclean and must start the ritual all over again.I found this out when a visitor called at the house and I went to welcome him and proferred my hand only to receive quite a snub!
  I just asked my husband why and he now thinks I am considering conversion.Forget it!!!

  name and shame ????

  first of all i would like to congratulate everyone who takes time out to enlighten the rest of us regarding hypocritical jw's.we all know someone who is not quite the person they portray themselves to be at the meetings, that "wolf in sheeps clothing" so to speak.this brings me to my point:-.

  is there any reason why we cannot name these individuals?.

  i would love to tell all my ex-congregationial associates about mr ........ and mrs ........,but i am not in a position to, or am i??.

  As for naming and shaming I'm not sure what it would achieve apart from a revenge motive.
  The point is names are not the issue. The issue is the exposure of hypocrasy and falsehood within the WTBS.
  Doesn't matter what the name is we all will recognise the type from our own experiences in the JW's.

  Are they demons?

  since i left the org.

  i have read some mind-boggling books on subjects such as mind-control, witchcraft, demonism, and conspiracy theories.. i obviously do not believe all i read but never-the-less have come across interesting real-life experiences that have made me wonder.. recently i read david icke's "the biggest secret" and found his theories on shape-shifting lizards ruling the world bizarre to say the least.. but something david icke said stopped me in mid-sneer.he said replace the lizards with demons if that was how you wanted to think of it.. it reminded me of a book i once borrowed from library about a young woman who was possessed by demons and described their shifting appearance as horrifically ugly or transforming to absolute visions of male beauty.. so if satan and his demons do rule this world as we were taught is it so unbelievable that they might possess influental people and certain individuals with psychic perception would be able to catch glimpses of them shape-shifting?.

  MommieDark I like your comments about an open mind ending up full of shit.I know what you mean.I just love delving around though.And as for the shit - I just have to trust my mind to recognise it for what it is.After all I got there in the end re: WTBS.

  How you are feeling is perfectly natural.Personally I have gone through many stages in the 10 years I have been out. Including a stage of defiance and anger toward God.
  When I first left I needed Him the most but felt that my prayers would be unheard thanks to WT teaching.This left a huge void.
  Then 6 years ago I met my hubby who is a moslem and when we talked about God I was surprised how similar our feelings were. I decided that it did not matter if you prayed to Jehovah or Allah or whatever as long as you acknowledged that God exists and you respected that.
  There are remote corners of the world where the Bible or Koran etc have never even been heard of.Usually it is found that these people end up worshipping something because presumably they feel a spiritual need of some sort.
  The trouble with us is that we have so many paths and Gods to choose from.Maybe you remain convinced the Bible is inspired by God...so that's narrowed it down to Christianity anyway.Doesn't make it any easier does it?
  But what about Atheism? Sorry it's only flitted past my mind once or twice and it just didn't do it for me.Too far removed from my whole life up till now. After all we wouldn't have been JW's for all those years if we didn't have a love for God would we?
  Nowadays when I pray I tend to just say "Father" but I still think "Jehovah". Force of habit.
  I do not need religion and am doubtful if I will ever join any sort of religious following again.But as for retuning to God..well I realise I never really left.

  You Know's Spiritual Mad Cow Disease

  it's evident to all readers besides fredhall that our beloved you know is suffering from spiritual mad cow disease.

  parallel to the disease after which it is named, it is contracted by eating spiritual food infected with an unusual pathogen which gets deep into the brain and gradually destroys it.

  symptoms include instability, uttering loud noises and falling on one's face.. spiritual mad cow disease is propagated in an interesting way.

  Now it seems anything goes especially where abusing non-JW's is concerned.
