ExJW's Make Better Lovers?
by COMF ini don't mean in general, i mean for exjw's... is there a noticable advantage to pairing with someone with the same background?
i'd like to read your thoughts and experiences on this subject.. i've been romantically involved few times, since "the light got brighter" for me about the organization, with people who didn't know anything about jw's before meeting me.
one of them viewed my exjw activity as a bit obsessive but okay as long as she got to obsess on her favorite obesssions, too.

Hi
I liked these points; If all my friends are exJWs, and I spend all my time in exJW-land, and attend exJW conferences, and so on, how would that be different from being a JW, only in reverse?
I agree with you Seeker. I find it quite a comfort that my hubby has nil interest. He helps me laugh at myself. Like today I came home from library with 8 hefty books on Jesus and he just looked at them , raised his eyebrows and shook his head slowly...
and Dannyboy
But, am I the only person who's at a little bit concerned that I'd fall in love with an X-JW, who might then (god forbid) GO BACK to the dubs??? It ("returning") happens!
Phew...that's enough to keep me away from xjw's. Unfortunately you could apply that same thought to friendships. I have just renewed a friendship with an old JW friend who is an ex and found it difficult to talk freely as she still believes and would be shocked if she knew my opinions! So maybe the definition should change to do fellow 'apostates according to WTBS' make better lovers.
And as for sex...
Well being an exjw with only worldly partners I can only say that years of not getting any makes you obsessive and demanding. But it does eventually wear off. Ah well all good things must come to an end...Free

Freedom of Thought and JW Opposers
by dunsscot indoes freedom of thought really obtain in this forum?
are those who have left god's organization and jehovah god himself actually now more open-minded and unbiased?
if those who espouse atheistic thoughts or those who believe every vile utterance spoken against jehovah's people think they are now speaking from some olympian perspective, i beg to differ.

Just wanted to ask,
Do you talk like this in 'real life' or is this just an all-out attempt to impress?
Well hey I'm suitably impressed
And depressed!

Do you want the real truth or not?
by Jason inon this website there seems to be so many lies and so little actual truth.
is this supposed to be a place to get answers or confuse the hell out of truth seekers?
well, for you seekers out there, if you find the truth on this site it'll be a major fluke.

New Insights on History of Jesus
by Amazing inlast year on h20 much was discussed about whether jesus was a historical person.
it was brought out that no mention of jesus is ever made outside the works of christians (presuming that all christian historians are biased) except for the the writings of roman historian, flavius josephus.
and, even the brief mentioin of jesus in josephus works are challenged by some as being spurious addtions to some manuscripts.

Seeker,
My initial reaction to your reply to me was a typical British saying :'if the cap fits wear it'
BUT
I actually wasn't referring to you personally so I am puzzled at your offended reaction.
As a JW for 20 years I felt like I had a bright multicoloured t-shirt on permanently which read I AM A CRACKPOT!!!I hated being treated like a fool for believing what I believed.
So I find it demoralising when I see forum members taking the P out of anyone expressing interest in topics a bit different.
I understand where you are coming from regarding lurking JW's but I am sure they are more likely to be shocked at the scornful attitude of posters or by threads on bad language or racism.
Why can't we tolerate eachothers differing beliefs?
Some on this board are atheists and make sure we all know it. That's fine by me. I believe in God and that's my choice. Maybe JW's lurking will be turned off by atheists but maybe they might secretly feel the same. Who knows?
It doesn't matter because freedom of speech is encouraged in here and Simon does not impose censorship. We have a great place to chew the fat. I love the place.
Hope that clarifies it, Seeker. Nothing personal.Free

Hi SL
Well it's nearly 2am so I need to go to bed and cuddle hubby so I didn't give it the attention I normally would.
I have a folder in my Favourites i've called 'weird 'n' wonderful' for all this sort of mind-blowing stuff including David Icke's site. Icke got slagged off in here the other day but there is some interesting stuff in his site such as religious fraud, mind control etc.
Keep 'em coming lol...Free

SF,
Hey despite the sneers of the super intellectual self-appointed 'betters' in this forum I am not put off from confessing an interest in these subjects myself.
I actually choose to believe what I want and read what I want and post what I want.
There's a few similar threads going on at the moment and the same old people are curling their lips as usual.
Keep posting your 'weird' stuff and I'll keep an eye out for it and look without peeing on your bonfire.Free

just popped in and was pleased to see a thread on a subject I am currently researching.
Probably not new to some but maybe of interest to some newbies is this web site that delves into the Jesus story and the long list of pre-Jesus figures with remarkable similarities in their stories:
