Were you allowed to use the bathroom during meetings?

i have read many post on here about abuse that goes on in the kingdom hall.

one abuse i use to see involved the denial of the bathroom to children during meetings.. .

in the kingdom hall i attended like most expected children to sit still for two hours during the meetings.

If you see something about the way someone is treating their kids please say something to the parents! Because what they are doing to them is ABUSE. Especially if they are 7 and under, since kids those ages don't have the same bladder size as kids that are older. I personally got in trouble for having to go the the bathroom when I was real young. And remember the humiliation to this day. If you say something to the parents at least they know someone is watching them. I never did understand what the big deal was about the 'you can't go the bathroom' during the meetings . Like your really missing anything.

You Need To Give Credit To The Society For Your Education

you need to give credit to the society for your education.the watchtower and awake magazines have been helping individuals receive a g.e.d .

or high school diploma.

where did you learn the art of public speaking?

What I do give the society credit for is my ability to question. And not take whatever I am told as "Truth". And to that I am truly thankful!

We Are Dying!

this is my first post and might be my only post, not sure.

i've chosen to "come out" for a moment just to talk about the 30 minute change in the public talk on sundays.

my father and brother are both elders, this change was a blow to them they enjoy giving encouraging public talks to the friends.

Thank you for having the courage for posting on this forum. You are doing now being an active JW, what it took me 8 years to do. It is refreshing to read posts from people who went through exactly the same things I did growing up. WE ALL know how you are feeling. Please keep posting. WOW JCanon! Thank you so much for that! Regarding the archaeological info, I keep thinking what a shame Israel has such a strangle hold on digs and evidence they find there. That what other information would come out that could put a damper on JW teachings. And thank you for a great welcome. Glad to have found this forum.

i would like to know if any of you have any good arguements refuting this.

my brain is fried from two weeks of "fencing" with jw's.

I think its very bizzare to think there is a god named Jehober who tells a bunch of old lazy men what he wants from everyone else.

I don't mean to get off topic. But what is Jehober, don't tell me they changed how they pronounced Jehovah. I'll laugh.

Closing prayers at JW conventions

i've often thought that the closing prayer at jw conventions is a study in psychology in and of itself.. consider the typical scenario.

it's 4:30pm on a sunday afternoon.

people are tired and hungry.

When I was little, my family and I would go over and have dinner, with the people who studied with my parents and brainwashed them into being JW. Every dinner prayer was freaking 10 min long. I don't know about you, but when your a kid and smelling all that food in front of you and then a 10 min prayer, that was torture. The people that brainwashed my parents were ancient ,and every prayer they ever said for anything was 10 minutes long.

Heya,

I work at Barnes and Noble and worked the Harry Potter party, that was the most INSANE night. Didn't get home till 4:30 in the morning. When the last Book came out 2 years ago their was actually a fist fight in one of the isles over who got the book. And this is the best part ( I'm sorry I laughed my butt off) an elderly woman got knocked into a Harry Potter book display. It was priceless!

How Did you Feel Being Raised as a Jehovah's Witness?

quite a thought, huh?

i was raised from birth as my family was in it 7 years before i was born ( 1952).

i remember wanting to go out for school sports in high school as my p.e.

I thought is was great! I especially like the part where my dad grounded me for two weeks for talking to another boy that was sitting next to me at the circuit assembly, when i was 14. I guess he thought I was going to jump his bones right there. Ahh the good ol' days.

Hello this is my first post here, I have been away from anything related to the JW for about 8 years (yeay). I was wondering if anyone had info or direct me to some links about this 607 (date?) I've been reading about. I did hear about them applying for UN membership, and was somewhat shocked. I have also read the "secret" elders book that was posted here, thank you for that is was great. Just reaffirms why I got the heck outta dodge.
