My Brother Died in a Car Wreck Last Night
by WLG ini just found out about an hour ago.
he wasn't even old enough to drink yet.. to make it even sh*ttier, he had called me a few weeks ago and asked if he could come out here with me but i couldn't do it at the time.
so of course the first thing that comes to mind is if i had done something different it wouldn't have happened.. he was going through the sh*t as i call it, when witnesses go off the deep end and get into everything in the world to stop hurting and they don't even know what is wrong.

ummmm....
perhaps it was licensed artwork...
Just because the woman is one in the same doesn't mean something was 'stolen'.
The artists in Brooklyn are fantabulous beyond the need to steal; regardless of how warped they are....
oy vey.
By the way, I commited some sort of sin several (hundred) times to this picture growing up. Are you sure she's in her sixties now?

Was the Watchtower taken off guard by the internet and XJW forums
by JH indo you think that the internet and xjw forums caught the watchtower off guard?
just a few years ago, disfellowshipped ones were powerless and rendered silent by the watchtower.. to what degree do you think the internet has made life difficult for the watchtower?.

I think some people are missing the point. (or maybe I am)
The question is: Are we (apostates), hurting their growth. The answer is "Yes and NO"
We took them off guard in that they (nor anyone else) estimated the power of the internet.
Problem is, they WILL endure.
Does that mean we're powerless?
Absolutely not. We have the power of recovering moreso now than we did say 15 years ago in that we have each other.
We took that away from them.
But don't think for a second that they won't be able to 'endure all things'.
They will also recover and they will continue to grow. It's a fact of life; suck it up.
and also remember that there are plenty of other people out there hurting today that have not even realized they have a support network here.
And there are beyond 10-fold of those that are unsuspecting that will be hurt in the future. They're knocking on doors promising a paradise future to those that have no other hope. As sure as cults keep popping up all over the world promising similar lies, they will continue to harm the innocent.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is fooling only themselves.

Who knows with the Watchtower organisation, they can be very devious when they need be.
My exact point. Whatever it takes is what they'll do; and there's enough stupid people in this world to continue to buy into it.
Not even that; it's not really a matter of stupidity as it is vulnerability.
And that trick has always been in their hat.

What is the Society's stand on illegal immigrants?
by cruzanheart ini've been away long enough (thank god) that i don't know what the party line is anymore about this.
when i was "in" i studied with a nice woman from venezuela and, when my mom found out she was in the country illegally, she stopped the study and told yomaira that we couldn't study with her until she got her immigration status cleared up.
this was back in the late 1970's.. however, i spoke with a jw friend this past weekend and it was taken for granted that a family member's caregivers -- who are witnesses in good standing going to the spanish congregation -- are not here legally.

They won't turn the 'illegal' in to the authorities, BUT they can't hold a position in the congregation either.
and I'm sure if someone else turns them in, they'd experience sanctions themselves, of some kind...

I think some here are not giving them any credit at all.
They're more intelligent than you think; they've lasted through everything else and they'll keep right on going, no matter how much we slowed them down for the past several years...
They'll endure; watch and see.

yes; but not difficult enough...
too many people will buy into their crap and get hooked enough right off the bat to ignore us. By then many of them won't come and look on the net for information because they've already been brainwashed against us.
Especially considering they 'target' the poor and downtrodden. People who don't have the resources to search for themselves...
If anything, the net just slowed them down long enough to come up with new ways to combat the 'unexpected'. Those plans are in force now and I predict in the next decade there'll be an increase in their numbers. Many of the ones leaving are young people who have not yet even become publishers, or that have not yet become baptised. Some of them will go back after being shunned; especially as the society becomes more mainstream.
Just my thoughts on the subject.
Unless people are willing to knock on doors right behind the JWs, we don't have a chance. And who's willing to do that? (and our numbers aren't even close to being able to accomplish such a thing)

Dreams of KH, Assemblies, etc.
by monophonic inso, i attend more meetings than most jws with all the dreams i continue to have regarding the meetings and assemblies..
usually the dreams aren't nightmares, but i'm supposed to give a talk and i'm given what i'm supposed to say and i tell the brothers there's no way i'm getting up there and giving the talk unless i can go off the outline..
most of the time, the dreams bleed into other areas of my life, like last night i was at the assembly and i saw this supposed life-long 'friend'....

I've been having the same problem.
Dreams of assemblies, dreams of friends I grew up with, etc.
I've been out for about 17 years, and just in the past week or three these dreams popped up...
dreams of my ex-wife as well (eewww).
