blueviceroy it seems you have found peace. teh same kind i hope i will achieve one day. i have become surprisingly humanistic since leaving the JWs; I believe people are capable of so much more than the picture religion has painted of humans.
It's so sad that the human spirit is crushed in this way.

what religion are you now?
by 4digitcode ini'm sure this has been asked a million times before but since leaving the witnesses what religion (or lack thereof) have you chosen for yourself?
and what is it about that religion that attracted you?
since leaving the witnesses i think i no longer believe in god, not out of anger, actually i think i like the idea of him more since i don't believe in him anymore.

i'll go first.
since leaving the witnesses i think i no longer believe in God, not out of anger, actually i think i like the idea of him more since i don't believe in him anymore. Genuine faith in him helps so many people around the world that i say good for them.
i think he's just not there but that if he is he may well understand why some don't believe in him anymore.
Since leaving i have gained an interest in meditation and yoga and am keen about learning about buddhism.i'm not planning to convert any day soon but i like expanding my spiritual horizons i guess. I still believe in taking the most out of figures like jesus. I think he is a great character whether real or fictional and we can all achieve finding the answers to our questions. The world is beautiful and scary at the same time. Since not having god in my life it has been scarier and more lonely (and i solely think this is because of the intense everyday religiosity of being a JW)but it has also felt more real than ever before.
i'm glad i chose the red pill.
any takers? -

by ninja in*** g82 8/8 p. 25 when the music ends, how do we solve the problems?
as a result, many young people have come to the conclusion that looking to pop stars as examples after which to pattern their lives is looking in the wrong place.
one such is the fourteen-year-old german boy who wrote the watch tower society the following: .

“The elite of the social set and celebrities of show business have discovered a sensuous dance called the Twist, performed to rock ‘n’ roll, and are wallowing in it like converts to a new brand of voodoo
hahaha that sentence really made me laugh -

To my friends that are not in the US: Do you get this kind of propaganda?
by CaptainSchmideo ini know a lot of brits, aussies, canadians, etc, always marvel at the arrogance, haughtiness, and cockiness of us tourists visiting their countries.
or how mainstream us citizens just fall in line with anything that comes out of the government's mouth, accept any policy as "good", believe all that stuff about how "america is the greatest nation on earth!"..
how it gets ingrained into the being of most us citizens?.

journey-on I agree with you and have gotten into a lot of debate defending americans while living in other european countries than the UK.
Here is one account:
I was in rome with some witness friends and for i don't remember what reason one replies ".....america...yeah you can't even keep your buildings upright" refering to september 11th.
It absolutely made my blood boil. I stared him dead in the eye and said would you say that about the london terrorist attacks or the russian operahouse attack!!"
It seems that because america is the most powerful country in the world people forget their humanity when refering to america. They forget it is made up of people like themselves.
And also like you said It is so cool to say america sucks that a lot of people say it mindlessly just to have something to say.
When looking at WORLD politics not just american or british or french, etc. on their own but as componenets of one same planet, i soon saw that america is at number one also because everyone else wants it there, or as one frank politician said NEEDS it to be there. maybe not individuals but bigger entities than a mere human being DO!
That's when you see a discrepancy between the governments' view and the people's view.
about civil liberties of course america has civil liberties any person who said it had none would obviously be wrong. But they can be taken away from you in the blink of an eye. Recent Example: People being detained for months with no charge after september 11th.....You'll say that is a protection for the american people?....yes it might well probably be...but it still doesn't disprove my point.
Maybe i'm wrong and i do speak humbly.I don't have an ideal that i must impose. Due to the impersonal nature of posts on a forum i hope things i say won't be misconstrued to be disrespectful of anyone's nation and heritage. it's nice if we can discuss things objectively. -

i'm able to go to beauty therapy school where i learn about auras and chakras and yoga, hinduism, buddhism, meditation, healing crystals (won't say i believe 100% but at least i can SIT IN on the class and LISTEN to what they're saying and CONTRIBUTE without feeling like demons are going to get me later)
I can go to the school christmas party...which i won't but I CHOOSE NOT TO....simply cause i don't feel like it!!
I can do this intensive course without being scared that i'm missing meetings because most of my weekday evenings are spent studying for assessments and projects being due one after the other.
I CAN PLAN A CAREER THAT I LIKE AND NOT ONE THAT WILL ENABLE ME TO BLOODY PIONEER!!!!!!!!
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA......................
that feels great!!
ANd that's just careerwise.......for other things, the list is so exhaustive i would be here typing all night!
