AHEM!
"So, summed up, I felt the organization was a crutch for my wife. Eventually I stopped trying to kick the crutch out from under her and supported her needs until she could stand on her own. When she could stand, she took the first step herself."
You neglected to mention that every time you tried the kick the crutch out I tried to beat you to death with it.
All I knew was being a JW. All my friends, my parents and identity were tied up in the JW's. I'll let you know when i start sleeping again, without nightmares, and the pain in my chest lessens when ever I think about the huge changes I have made lately. So cut your spouses some slack, this isn't easy for anyone.

Rabbit, I was not saying every case was like that. My point was, we don't know all the facts. We know what was printed in the newspaper. It seems to me that when we see "Blood" and "Jehovah's Witness" in the same article in the paper every jumps all over it as validation for every single bad thing that ever happened to them. "The society is evil" "Jehovah's Witnesses must be stamped out".
I have read over and over again on these forums to open my mind, research the topics and form my own reasonings, not just regurgitate tired and worn party lines that have been force fed to me. I was trying to interject another point of view.
PS: I am very sorry for your loss and I understand the pain of losing a loved one needlessly.

I hate Walmart!
by Elsewhere ini rarely ever set foot in the place and will go out of my way to avoid shopping there.
tonight i made the mistake of giving walmart the benefit of the doubt and walked in the door.. they didn't have the main item i was looking for, but they did have one other small item.
i headed to the front to check out only to find they had only a few check-outs open and all of the lines were far too long.

I don't "Hate" Walmart, however I don't shop there as much as I used to. Long line ups and I always seem to spend too much. Plus, at the store closest to me there is a MacDonald's right at the front of the store, which I hate, being on a diet and usually starving after trying to shop with three kids. The number one reason I still go to Walmart is......they have the best price on huggies diapers in town. all the time. not just when they are on sale. The number two reason is......kids clothes. Good prices, easy return policy and a wide selection. Just my two cents.

The "Jehovah book"
by Paralipomenon inthis has been an interesting week.
since opening her mind to the idea that the witnesses may be wrong, my wife and i have been enjoying many long deep topics of conversation.
one thing that happened yesterday that we were both able to laugh at was something my son said.

Did any one ask if the doctors tried to find an alternative treatment for her? Were there any other options or are we all just focused on the sensationalism of yet another "Blood" case hitting the news.?

I went thru the same thing. I managed to find her on classmates.ca which gave me her married name. Then I found her on Facebook. She was DF'd 12 years ago. It was wonderful to talk to her again. Good Luck with your search, Bobbi

Is Your Family Crazy?

i don't find them to be very giving or caring people.

My family is completely insane, witness or non-witness, they are all a bunch of self-centered *BEEPs*
My In-Laws aren't to bad, my MIL would drive a saint insane with her antics. -

Blonde, Brunette, Redhead? Do you have a favorite?
by Paralipomenon inthis is a fun question that i like to pose in social settings.
regardless of who your significant other is, i've found that people have a definite preference for hair color.
what i found even more interesting is that people usually preferred a hair color different than their own.
-
Bobbi
I was a blonde, got older, turned brunette and now am brunette with lots of blonde highlights to cover grey.
I prefer Men with brown hair and blue eyes, however I like cute bums so it doesn't really matter what color hair.(Paralipomenon has two of the above mentioned preferences.) -

What sends you over the edge?
by restrangled inthere was a recent thread on spelling, sentence structure, etc., that was legitimate, but probably made other's feel stupid.. my question is, what is your personal pet peeve?.
i've got a problem with poor construction inside my home...i hate the trim work, some cut too short so it looks like mouse holes over the floor.
i had my kitchen redone and the layout was so unusual that i can't open a fridge door unless i pull it forward or push it back to open a drawer.

Turn signals/Blinkers and the people who think you can read their minds.
Go ahead and cut me off, I read your mind a few miles back and knew what you were going to do. Don't mind me I am just sitting here waiting to turn and you obviously are going to continue straight thru because you don't have your signal on......WAIT you are turning.... well thanks for nothing.
Or my personal fave... changing lanes to a turn lane only and THEN turning on your blinker. Thanks I was a little confused about what you were doing. Turn signals are for signaling intent not announcing after the fact "Hey Look at me I changed lanes". -
