  Average age of apostates survey.

  i thought it might be a good idea to find out at what age or after how long we descided to leave the watchtower.. prehaps we my find a patern in it which we could use .. i think what we need to know are ,.

  Will you go to the memorial

  i have never missed a memorial in 20 years of being a jw, but this year will be the first one i miss because i refuse to set foot in any kingdom hall.

  i was wondering how many that post here will attend the memorial and if so why?.

  do you feel pressured into going by family or friends?.

  Your comments hit home with me, the longer you dwell over these things the harder it will be to ever pull completely away. The problem is when family are so indoctrinated and still practising witnesses it will always be there to remind you, the longer they continue to ignore you the longer it hurts. I don’t see anyway of forgetting the past and carrying on life with out a thought of the WTS, that’s the way they want it and we all have to accept we are still slaves to the WTS in mind. The way to counter it is in forums such as these and talking to other xjw's. It is a big change in all of our lives when we stop being JW's I wish I could put it out of my mind but I cant, so writing comments and talking about it will help the pain that has been caused by the WTS.

  Do they bug people?

  i have heard comments in the past about people being bugged, telephones, homes, cars, etc.. does anyone really know this happens or is it apostate urban lore?

  Secret agents in the society?

  i've just mentioned on another thread how in russia secret agents managed to get into high postions of authority in the society there in order to keep a watch on what they were doing.. i believe this has happened in other countries to.. so how about this, do the british and american goverments have infiltraitors in the society to keep a watch on them?.

  it seems an obvious thing to do if you are in power, you somehow need to keep track of what fringe groups are doing.. could they even be high up in the org if they are there?.

  there was an article in one of the newspapers this week that claimed over 1000 organisations in britian are involved in secret obsevations of individuals and groups for various reasons.. it seems possible that they would want to keep tabs on groups like the witnesses.. what do you think?

  Thanks for all the comments I think most of us are all in agreement that we WILL NOT BE GOING TO THE MEMORIAL!!!!!
  And if some of us do we will be partaking of the emblems.

  I for one cant wait to March 28th when I am sat at home and not paying lip service to the WTS by going to the memorial. I think another good reason for keeping away is that we will not be adding to the memorial attendance figures, and hopefully contributing to a decline in the attendance for 2002.

  Its a personal decision and you are right in what you say. You obviously can overcome the differences with the regulars that are there.

  Do you still believe in the memorial of Christ’s death?
  I personally will not give any JW I know the pleasure of seeing me at the memorial.

  Stopped going to meetings around 2 years ago, I did attend the memorial last year but I will not be going this year. I am now branded an apostate and have been shunned. Couldnt care less though because I cant stand the WTS and anyone going to any meetings.
