  JWs' Letter to Dateline

  i just got a copy of the society's letter to dateline as to why they would not agree to an on-camera interview.. they said that since dateline told them that most of the people that they were interviewing considered themselves active jws, that for the headquarters to make a statement that it would make it appear as though "brother" was speaking out against "brother".

  and that a nationally televised program was not the appropriate forum for them to work out their differences.

  (this is interesting since the pandelos and barb have been dfed, haven't they?).

  I guess that they did not want to have an open dialogue on this issue but as the scripture says, "YOUR SIN WILL FIND YOU OUT!!"

  Barbara Anderson Disfellowshipped

  as of 1 pm today barb anderson was notified that she has been disfellowshipped in writing by the judicial committee in her congregation.

  barb was df in absentia at a second hearing that was declared after she successfully defended herself against charges in the first hearing.

  home office came back with further instructions to make it stick the second time around.

  Preparation for Dateline & online interest

  dateline is just 24 hours (give or take) away.

  i really do expect to see a great deal of online activity as people search for more information.

  jwd is likely going to be one of the most visited due to the large amount of information posted here on the subject, much by silentlambs themselves.. i also expect to see people visiting randy's excellent site as well as watchtower observer for copies of documentation,news articles, etc.

  Yes it is. This particular Buddhism teaches that ALL people have the potential for Buddhahood or Enlightenment. What is referred to as "gods" are functions of life that serve to protect us ( i.e. shelter, doctors, people that post on this site & etc ).

  If you want to find out more about this you can check out sgi-usa.com or buddhajones.com which bills itself as nichiren buddhism with a grin. I think you'll get a kick out of the latter. It's fun and really funny.

  I am a Buddhist who practices Nichiren Buddhism with a little help from SGI-USA. This helps me to look for eternal happiness from within by Chanting Nam Myoho Renge Kyo. To give you a short translation of this it means:

  "I devote myself to the UNIVERSAL LAW of CAUSE & Effect through SOUND or VIBRATION."
