by lifelong humanist ini've just watched all 3 parts of francis ford coppola's epic godfather once again.
it is a superb achievement on many levels.
each viewing reveals something new and fresh.. i recall, as a good jw at the time, not seeing it when released as it was not certified as 'suitable' given the content for jws.

"Ground Hog Day" and "Big Country" . Can't remember many of the movies I've seen from the 40's. My dad was a projectionist untill I was 18 and I saw all the movies back then free. I remember Bob Hope and Bing Crosby in a lot of old movies. Red Rider and Little Beaver, Roy Rodgers, The Lone Ranger were in the Friday night western movies. So many old memories.

PROVE that Jehovah's Witnesses have the "Truth".
by undercover inminimus started a thread asking people to prove that jws don't have the truth.... but, instead of proving they don't, i'd like to see someone prove that the witnesses do have the truth.. this is your thread jw apologists....convince me why you have the truth.. to all you apostates and nay-sayers, please allow the apologists to have their say without harrassing them.

7 For there are three that testify: 8 the [a] Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
This just shows me why I can't understand almost all the bible. How can water and blood testify, or agree with anything???
The bible says the heavens and earth will be destroyed and new ones made. What does that mean? Why doesn't he just say he is going to fix the mess he created originally and do it diferently this time.
The bible is so impossible to understand, look at Revelation. Why doesn't God just communicate in an understandable way so there wouldn't be so many different religions using the Bible as it's doctrine?

How many here actually still believe that there is a God??
by annalice inafter being gone from the jw's for many years now , and having done extensive research on the history of god and the belief in him , i can't seem to find any logical way to have a belief in an invisble being up there ruling over us.

I can't decided what I really believe. I can't understand God. The earth is a beautiful place but is filled with bad things. Who made disease, natural disasters, all the parasites, cancer, viruses, and never explains anything to us except by some religious nuts. Why has he waited so many thousands of years to do anything? Most religious zealots say we will be tormented forever in a fire of hell if we don't believe in Jesus. Is God really that vindictive, especially since we have no evidence he exsist?
I'm still looking for answers which don't seem to exist.

How Does God Hear All Prayers???

does he know all of us by name or by a soul or something?
does he have a movie of our lives to judge us at our death?

SC serial killer was a JW!..a friend here knew him and was in same KH

he actually recognized the police sketch of the guy!
the murderer was killed by nc cops, after he had executed five people in gaffney sc in the past week or so.

He lived in Eden, NC, the town I live in. His grand dad worked on my car back in 1956. His dad had a bible study I think but I don't remember if he ever was a JW or not.

I need help regarding Michael's Jackson JW past...
by JustHuman14 inguys i really got some trouble here in greece with some jw's who claim that m.j was never a jw.
they even claim that reporters and media are trying to create negative inviroment against jw's by saying that michael was a jw.. so you guys in u.s.a can you give me some links, or copies of u.s newspapers and media that show exactly the opposite..... thanks guys for your help.

I don't know how involved he was, but I saw him and his family at a convention in Pa. in 1973.
