Thank you for posting this. Very good advice..I once read that something as simple as having a meal together at least once a day dropped the chances of your children becoming drug addicts or criminals by like 70%....

I was going to my mom's house when a neighbor told me to turn on the news. Once I got there my mom and sister were all watching CNN. We couldn't believe what we were watching. Then we saw the second plane hit live....We just kept on thinking about those poor people's families. The extent of the damage we didn't learn till later. But the consequences of that day are still being felt worldwide. And it's unfortunate that such a tragic event was used by politicians to manipulate Americans and the nationalistic fervor that arose after 9/11.

I think many JW's continue because of the hope they have of the resurrection....I guess it would just be too pianful for then to think that they would never lose their loved ones again. I know my mom is like this and I can relate to being called negative when I brought up some things that didn't seem right to me..I'm sorry taht in your case it's your wife who feels this way. Must be really tough...

The only thing worse than the songs themselves is having to sing them without accompanying music during blackouts...especially if they were one of those obscure ones that you sing once a year and no one knows the tune to them...scratching nails on a blackboard sounded better..what a nightmare!!!!

The songs with the parts in parentheses that not everyone is supposed to sing but they never specify who's supposed to...
Those were the worst..only a few sang them in the first verse...and of course they sounded like a bunch of fools...It was comic relief for me..I would just laugh...
Does anyone remember one that sounded like a song from the nutcracker??? It kind of sounded like a christmas tune in the beginning??? -

As far as I can remember in all the congregations there has always been more women than men...since women aren't encouraged to do anything else other than become pioneers or get married some start getting kind of desperate when they begin to get older...it seems the average age for marriage among JW's in the States in 21? 22? if you've reached 25 and still single it's like you're over the hill....basically the only requirement they are looking for is that he be a witness...age, intelligence, common interests, maturity take a back burner to that. It's no wonder you see so many unhappy marriages...

What is Your Scariest Experience in Life?
by R.F. ini'd have to say mine was when i was at the wee age of 8.. my siblings and i were out swimming with some friends and their parents.
what i remember mostly was that i got seperated very quickly from the rest of the group and drifted into the deeper end.
i found it getting more and more difficult to swim with each passing second.

The other day I was looking in the internet and I found this site that get ex JW's together. They plan activities in your area. There's a whole bunch of people registered. I'll try to find the web page and post it. But you really should check it out. And they have things in all cities and areas in the US...

I used to attend a spanish hall when we were in the states and the spanish brothers only speak to people who look like they are hispanic...It's a way to broaden their territory...If they would have been English, I would be sending a different message, but having been in that congregation I wanted to let you in on the protocol. Half the witnesses in the spanish probably have very limited English as well...And probably zero literature in English...The spanish witnesses are very zealous, but like I say, I'm sure they didn't consider you part of their territory....God may still love you despite....
