Let’s not be so quick to render a harsh judgment against this young man. How do we know the pie didn’t lead him on? Did the pie put up a fight, did it scream? Oh no I guess that was him screaming, never mind. It seems to me the only way to get to the bottom of all this is to have the Elders investigate this.

Movie or no movie, there are just certain places you don’t put your pecker. These include: Meat grinders, barbeque grills, and the carving table of a Japanese restaurant. And now I guess we can add pastries to the list, particularly hot apple pie as a place NOT to put your pecker. Just when you think you have heard it all...

FYI the so-called protestors were in fact trespassers and obstructing (among other business) the loading of supplies to support American troops overseas. The so-called protestors refused a lawful order by the police to disperse and even hurled objects at the police.

Fortunately the police sometimes have the ability to break up rioting crowds without resorting to deadly force, and this appears to be one of those times.

The WatchTower and Higher Education

Imagine being let’s say 17 in 1969 and listening to the advice in Awake. So you are now over 50 and the arthritis is starting to kick in a bit more, and the back starts to not take the strain as well as it once did. You are still stuck in a low paying job and you work hard for every dollar you earn. You may not even own your own home because you were never able to save enough money for a down payment and / or your income to debt ratio never allowed you to qualify for a mortgage.

If I were that person, I would be pretty mad, and rightfully so. And what responsibility does the Tower shoulder in all of this? None, nada, zip. The Dark Tower says: well we never said how long this system could go on, and if someone chooses a particular vocation or opts to forgo higher education, well that was their choice that they themselves made, we have no responsibility in that.

Like the blood issue, the Tower has no responsibility, “it was their choice”.

Birthdays - I may need some input

we had a birthday "party" for my daughter at a local restaurant today, with a group of her friends invited.

we are "inactive" but i still attend some meetings.

i do not comment or want any 'privilages'.. anyway, one person whom my daughter invited is a jw, though she has said that she may want to get out soon.

FYI Rocketman, The Tower is on shaky ground when it comes to birthdays. There is only reference to 12 or so birthdays in the Bible. Two of them ended in tragedy, but apparently the other 10 or so went OK. The Tower men will only tell you about the 2 which involved tragedy, but they will not tell you about how the righteous Job made sure each of his children had their own “special day”, or as my copy of the Living Bible says their “Birthday”. So if nobody was beheaded at this party you had, then I would not be too concerned about it; it’s certainly nothing to lose your head over.

You know some of you people are so quick to judge and make fun that you miss the big picture. Did it ever occur to any of you that Hurt just may be on to something?

Hurt IMHO I think you have brilliantly analyzed the current situation with the UN but some of these fools who post here have no appreciation for theocratic principles so they just refuse to see it.

If I understand this correctly, what we are now seeing before our very eyes is an atypical fulfillment of the antitypical King of the North’s struggle with the modern symbolic fulfillment of the symbol representing the Wild Beast.

You folks can laugh and make fun all you want,only Jehovah’s Faithful Slave can truly understand it all. But I wrn you all, just as in the days of Noah, no one took notice until it was too late. So just keep watching the news because the end is very near, you just wait and see.

Great article! I can totally identify with this phenomenon. Sometime I want to take my wife’s head and twist it off because she will defend the Tower no matter what direct evidence is presented that they have done and are doing horrible things. It doesn’t matter how strong or well documented the evidence is, the Tower is always defended. It’s just so totally illogical to just blindly believe, but she does. And it’s so very hard for me to accept this. Sometimes I wish I could have the necessary areas of my brain removed so I could believe along with her again. God I hate this cult!
