I forgot this little tidbit: I had my laptop up while I was watching the program and I pulled up Rodgers website and concert schedule for the current year. He was at some decent sized venues all year but one concert caught my eye: Durant, Oklahoma. I'm watching Queen + Paul Rodgers performing in front of 50 or 60 thousand people in '05 or '06 in England and the next year or so he does a concert in a town that has maybe 14k total population. I don't know why I found that odd, but I did.

You know it wasn't bad. Rodgers didn't try to be Freddy, and I'm a Freddy fan too, so it worked out okay. If I had to compare it to another similiar situation it would be Van Halen when Sammy Hagar took over as the singer. When I saw Van Halen at the OU812 tour Sammy wasn't trying to be David Lee Roth even when he was singing Roth's songs.

Just a little fluff, I'm waiting for my wife to go to bed to post my other topic o' the day.
I got home last night just in time to catch a special program on our local PBS station. It was Queen + Paul Rodgers. For those not familiar with Paul Rodgers he was a member of Free in the 60's and 70's, Bad Company in the 70's till 82 and then went on to the band The Firm. In 2005-06 he appeared with Brian May and Roger Taylor as Queen + Paul Rodgers. I'm not the type of person who keeps up with the music scene all that much so I had no idea that they had even been performing together. I saw Billy Squire/Bad Company/Styx in 2001 in Denver and I just assumed that he was still touring on and off with his old band. I have to say that I thought he did a pretty decent job in his appearance with Queen in that the music sounded just like the concert was billed: Queen+ Paul Rodgers.
Has anyone else seen this performance, and if so what did you think?

Heya NM welcome! I think it's great that you are here.
I've been in a holiday mood since before Thursday so each time I see someone new to the board I've been reminded of "It's a Wonderful Life"
so...
"Everytime a bell rings, a watchtower slave gets their wings!"

Yeah, I do think the video ignorant. A specious argument at best. "15 or 20 twenty years ago we didn't have..."
Try that BS argument while trying to justify racial hate and see how far it goes.
Also, I call bs on what she said because of what happened in two cases in my own family. My dad told me of an incident of child molestation in his neighborhood when he was a kid. The adults in the neighborhood were going to lynch some guy they caught messing with a child. My grandfather stepped in and talked his neighbors into turning the guy over to the police. The other event involved my mom and her older sister who were molested by their own father who was also an elder in Tulsa. My aunt told some adults in the kh and my maternal grandfather was removed as an elder for the offense. So, bs to the lady in the video they (both the worldly and the jw's) knew it was wrong to touch a child in the mid to late 40's. There will NEVER be an excuse for child molestation regardless of when in the chronology of time that it happened. Pathetic.

This topic is appropriate as I just finished watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on the tube.
The only cherry artificial flavored anything that I like is Jerry Cherry Laffy Taffy but that's only once in a while.
Sour or green apple is my fave atificial flavor. Mmmm Jolly Ranchers.

I guess it's about time I gave some ideas on things that interest me so my SS can pick out something.
I'm a voracious reader, so maybe a giftcard to Barnes and noble would be nice.
Oh wait, better yet, I'm really enjoying reading bedtime stories to my six year old and I've been looking for an alternate to the jw 'my book of bible stories'. If my SS could look around their location for one that would be awesome. That would be a Christmas two-fer, one for me and one for the ankle nibbler.
Or, how about sending a copy of a book that you enjoyed a child?
Anything that comes from your area and is symbolic of that locale would be outstanding.
Anything home improvement oriented like tool pouches, adjustable work lights that kind of stuff. A giftcard to Home Depot or Lowes is a very good thing.
Any type of fan clothing for your local sports team or University would be fun. I wear an xl in shirts and a 34 in waist.
A boardgame that you enjoy and think that I might like would be cool. I also like handheld conversation piece puzzles.

"
Omarosa to repise her ’Apprentice’ antics"
Shouldn't a newspaper, even if it is the Boston Herald, have a proofreader?
The word is 'Reprise'.
