  bro sanderson has a 7 minute video up on their streaming website called "be willing to open your hand".. in it he tells us not to be "tight fisted" or "stingy" and later "regardless of how much we have or how little we have, we'll find something within our power to be able to do".

  we have the responsibility to imitate jehovah's generosity.. there's a bit about giving to one another when we see the need, which is nice, then he drops in how 20 years ago the canada branch committee asked the bethel family for donations to the disaster relief fund, and promptly raised over $10,000.

  i think that's pretty good going for those under a vow of poverty.. "the generous person will prosper" he says, then illustrates this using a made up story.

"we are politically neutral as, in a sense, we have already chosen to support that kingdom's government.

  we see it as a real government.. "there are limitations to what governments can do, maybe they can improve the health system, but they can't prevent death, maybe they can help children, but they can't provide a secure future for them necessarily.

  my zealously fanatic jw mum is aware of my current "tourist-jw" life.

  what she doesn't know for sure is that she's part of the ones who brought me to this.. my mum was a quite moderate jw, she even got publically reproved once.

  in our house, there was no daily text, no family study, no eating together, no preaching together, no watchtower study...even though she regularly checked my wt to see if i studied it.. being a single mother, she had a quite busy work schedule, so from the moment she woke up to the moment she went to bed, you'd better not waste a single minute of her time needlessly.

  I know for a fact that any truthfulness in the experiences boasted about on the assembly platform has been, at the insistence of the CO & DO, buried under a pile of spin & heavily glossed up until the persons relating it felt they were having to tell lies.

  I understand what you're saying Eden.

  However the Watchtower has always taken the moral high ground on every matter & has continually wagged its finger at 'false religion' (their terminology not mine)

  The Watchtower can now be seen as being no better than any 'worldly' law bound corporate religion operating in 'Satan's old world' (their terminology not mine)

  In other words go beyond mans law to do what is good to others.

  The the men comprising the Governing Body of the Watchtower Organisation who claim to be Christs spiritual brothers have nothing to crow about. Yes their millions of $$$$$ are safe for the time being however their victory is a hollow one & the world can see it.

  the judgment against watchtower on the cause of action for punitive damages is reversed with directions to enter judgment for watchtower on punitive damages.

  If you are a congregation publisher can you explain to Jehovah why you are not an auxiliary pioneer?

  If you are an auxiliary pioneer can you justify to Jehovah why you are not a full time pioneer?

  Are you giving Jehovah (Watchtower) your all brothers?

  Are you holding back from serving Jehovah (Watchtower) whole souled?

  Remember brothers & sisters Jehovah knows the inclination of your hearts (Threat: God will harm you if you don't do as we say)

  Do you remember how you were made to feel when you didn't go out in your 'personal ministry'.

  Do you remember being mentally beaten into submission from the platform about your 'personal ministry'?

  Do you remember the scorn of being called spiritually weak or inactive?

  Do you remember how worthless you felt?

  the latest phase of the uk charity commission case included this:.

  subsequent to the opening of the inquiry, in a letter dated 10 july 2014, mr cook of the watchtower informed the respondent that the disfellowshipping hearing for mr rose had in fact been carried out by the elders of a different congregation, so the charity had played no role in that process.

  mr cook (who is the in-house solicitor at the watchtower) later elaborated on his own letter in a witness statement for the tribunal.

  Active posters: What education have you had, what degrees do you possess?

  from so many posts and conversations on here, you'd think over 1/2 the posters here possess doctorates in theology, physics, biology, etc.

  i'm curious aside from the books and research people have done here, what degrees they have.

  to start, i just got an aa and going straight through full time to an mba.
