Ah, Spec, sly knave thou art! Thou hath slipped in from yon shadows and drawn thy sword and cast down the gauntlet for the heart of fair Seven. Thy challenge is accepted, noble knight, prepare thee for battle! Though the first round is thine, I step into the ring and draw my weapon!
How lovely thy lips of wine and eyes of fire
All beauty resides in thee
Comely maiden, so lovely and fair
Spread your skirts on the grass beside me
-----Let's speak of love and things divine
Let's bask in the sunlight of love
Let mine eyes gaze upon thee, love of mine
Thee who art so lovely and fair that heaven above
-----Pales besides thy beauty and grace
Who's voice resounds as an angel's hymn
Let me feast mine eyes upon thy lovely face,
Open thy heart, my love, and let me in
-----Favor me with a smile from thy lips
Lay thy gentle hand upon my breast
And feel my heart feel this bliss
While in thy eyes I take my rest
-----For surely, my love, thou knowest well
What passions thou causes within me to swell
Without word from me thou can tell
I would pursue thee through the fires of hell
-----Or should my fight be with man or beast
I care not of dangers in my quest for thee
For of what value would this life of mine be
If I were to have it and not have thee
-----So stretch out thy hand and place it in mine
Let me gaze into thy enchanting eyes
How they glisten like dark, red wine.
I give thee my heart, I pray, give me thine--The French Knight!

VISION OF THE NIGHT
by Frenchy inhave you ever longed for something so much that you dared not reach for it lest you realize that it was unattainable?
for as long as you did not actually reach out for it you could always delude yourself into believing that if you really wanted to you could have it.
but once you reached for it and found it unattainable, well then you would lose that precious fantasy.

Have you ever longed for something so much that you dared not reach for it lest you realize that it was unattainable? For as long as you did not actually reach out for it you could always delude yourself into believing that if you really wanted to you could have it. BUT once you reached for it and found it unattainable, well then you would lose that precious fantasy. So what to do? Dwell on the fantasy or take the risk of losing it for the reality thay may be gained?
>> VISION OF THE NIGHT >>
Unbidden she slipped gently into my mind
And there she lay, softer than shadows in the dying light
So gentle was her essence I came upon her by surprise
And dared not rouse her lest she startle and take to flight
-----In twilight's glow I sat and pondered my plight
To bask in the glow of her presence in her ethereal state
Or confront the vision and perhaps force it to life
But alas! what if she exists in so precarious a state
-----That to confront the figment, so rare so dilate
That she should perish like mist under the morning sun
And so that brash action would seal my fate,
Banish this angel that heaven deemed to me should come
-----And so alone as always I anguished in my despair
And sat next to all that would make me whole and real
But fear seized my frail heart so that I feared it might tear
Take the chance or forever revel in regret and never feel
-----In the absence of reality dreams grow cold
And bring scant comfort to those who live alone
Like a wafer thin blanket of glittering gold,
Provides no warmth, no easing of the troubled soul
-----As I peered at the shimmering, vacillating wraith
I came to know that I pondered my own, troubled life
That uncertainty and fear had cast a shadow upon faith
So that I might never bask in that sweet light
-----And so in those quiet hours of the newborn night
I reached out and gently nudged that sleeping apparition
Who wakened with a smile that dispelled my long held fright
And for the first time in my life I was granted true vision
-----In time I came to know that neither devil or angel she be
But flesh and blood warm and gentle wild and free
So now I know life is risk, that for a chance to fill the need
Dare to lose the dream and seize upon the reality
-----Forever grateful for your gently intrusion
On that quiet sultry summer night
What fabulous fortune to have stirred the vision
And have you now as part of my life.

Greetings, yet have problems
by Dubby ini'm married, have a wonderful, but "unbelieving" wife.
i have three kids, all of whom are honor students and very responsible.. now my dilemma: none of my kids are the least bit interested in being jw's.
i took them all to meetings even as babies without the help of my wife or anyone else in the congregation.

So, Dubby, have you found 'the truth'? What are you going to do?

The Holy Spirit
by Frenchy inokay, i'm interested in what everybody thinks on this.
i believe that for the most parts all religions start off with a good motive, i.e., to provide a forum that will help people to serve god.
(basically).

I apologize for taking so long in getting back to this topic. Your reply is duly noted, SC.

The 1983 YEARBOOK page 21 states that an individual must have The Watchtower to understand the Bible.--------
So the yearbook says this, so what? How do you view this statement? Is there some Scriptural basis for this? Is there some verse in the Bible that says we need some outside source to understand God's Word? Is there some Biblical proof that the WTS is empowered and authorized to interpret Scripture? What makes the 1983 Yearbook statement anything but an opinion? Is it inspired?
--------
The Bible should be our primary textbook for study. WT 4/15/1971 p.230
--------Is this really the case? Is the Bible our PRIMARY text book? OR rather, is the Bible used only in connection with the STUDY AIDS that we are using at any given time? When was the last time we had a meeting when the Bible alone was used and read out of? THAT would be what I would call PRIMARY. Anyway, doesn't the 1983 yearbook say, in essence, the Bible is useless to us without the Watchtower? "...must have the Watchtower to understand..." Also, how many other articles really emphasize the Bible rather than the FDS?
-------
I believe Gods spirit directs our understanding of the bible.
-------How can that be inasmuch as we are told to avoid 'independent thinking'? How can God's spirit direct your understanding when your understanding is clearly printed out for you in the Watchtower? What is there left to pray for? How can you ask for understanding when you are not allowed any understanding but that which is printed out for you?
---------
The Watchtower 4/1/1986 says: Association with Jehovah's Witnesses requires accepting the teachings of the Bible, including scriptural beliefs that are unique to Jehovah's Witnesses.
---------"...the teachings of the Bible..." Now there is an interesting phrase. I have heard that phrase used in connection with the belief of the trinity, hellfire, immortality of the soul, praying to saints, using the cross in worship, as well as in the case of refuting these doctrines. So exactly what are "the teachings of the Bible?" The answer to that question depends on your religious persuasion. In other words, 'the teachings of the Bible' are what your religion tells you they are.
Please don't take this as a personal attack on you, SC, believe me it is not. It's just that I've heard all of this stuff thrown at me so many times over the decades that I have been a witness that I'm finally choking on it. It makes no sense to me. I don't have the answers but then I don't pretend to either.
If someone convinces me that they are God's agent, I will follow them to the gates of hell. But they had better have some strong proof of their commission. Because like the song says, "I can make mistakes myself just fine"
Please let me know how you feel about what I have said here.

About posting your picture be careful!
by spectromize insimon i'm sorry i don't mean to rain on your parade but you have to remember the society and your local elders watch for stuff like that.
this is a very liberal board as far as discussions go and forever thankful for that, but you have to be careful because you could face a jd meeting.
i'm sure everyone is well aware that some posts on this board just wouldn't go over to well with the society.

I think that a woman can be both beautiful and intelligent as well. I really don't see a down side to large, firm boobs and tight butts. While it's true that you can't keep them forever, why not enjoy them while they are there?!?!
I promise not to hold it against you, Seven, that you are pretty, how's that? I will continue to treasure your comments, your wit and intelligence regardless of how good you look!

I Need advice on Women.
by spectromize inokay, here is a few questions concerning women that i would like a little help with.. supposing your trying to get some lady's attention because your interested in her, what is a good approach without sounding to cheesy?
.
another question is how do you know and what are the indications that the girl is taking interest in you, and what are the indications she wants you to take a hike?

Spec, I don't believe that a woman's heart can be conquered and I don't beleive they are ever truly yours. Hearts have no bridles. We have so precious little to say about their wanderings. Oh, we can deny them for a while, even a long while but what a price we pay for that! At times we indulge them and we pay a price for that too. So what to do about them? Are they treacherous? No, just so very childlike with no thought to responsiblity. Hearts want. Hearts can be jealous, hearts can be cruel, hearts have no concern about anyone or anything but themselves. But what would we be without them???

What should I do?
by Scorpion ini have pioneered for over four years.
i have three children and a wife who at times has severe back problems.
i have worked two jobs just to stay ahead of the bills and provide for my family.

I have known some really fine C.O.'s in my time. Without exception their advice is to take care of your family FIRST. That is your primary objective. In time if you're inclined to pioneer again then you can do so.

Scene: (Fade in)... Adam and Abel are clearing out the weeds from their pitiable little garden. Abel looks up and wipes the sweat from his face.
ABEL: Dad, how was it when you and mom were in the Garden of Eden?
The man straightens up and winces slightly at the pain in his lower back. He, too wipes the sweat from his brow and looks down at his son.
ADAM: It was great, son, unbelievabe! Fruit trees, berries, everything a person could possibly want was there.
Abel points to a place to the west.
ABEL: Dad, is that the Garden of Eden over there?
ADAM: Yep, son, that's where your mother ate us out of house and home.
