Every other resurrection recorded in the scriptures were just that a resurrecton.

How could any other instances of "resurrection" actually have been such if they were not brought back perfect (physically)?

Perhaps Lazarus was in a comatose state. In that ase would resurrection be the correct word?

And what about people who have had near death experience... where all machines read that they are dead and yet they have revived?

Do you consider that a resurrection?

How can resurrection have such a double meaning? Brought back as is...and brought back in perfection (physically).

Joseph said: A priest would be considered a Saint by the Jews.

Did Matthew consider himself an opposer of that religious sect because of his association with Jesus?

Would Matthew have referred to the priests, scribes, and pharisees as "holy ones"?

Would he have given them acknowledgement as "holy ones"?

Did Jesus teach that they were the "holy ones"?

I am under the impression that Matthew would have had a different concept of criteria of "holy ones" due to his close association with Jesus.

this sector was already a burial place long before the Roman period.

All the more reason that this is very possible resurrection of the 144, 000 holy ones.

Verse very specifically says it was holy ones who were risen.

(Not all the dead randomly upheaved from their graves as the wbts is so boldly changing the words.)

Now, consider what the NWT bible says

wbts has really stretched their license of interpretation, don't you think?

If wbts feels that they have most accurate translation of Bible, then why would they bastardize the words so badly here?

look at these word differences: Bible Wbts

raised up thrown about (raised=methodical thrown=random)

bodies corpses

entered into city thrown out by violent tremor

coming out thrown about

Holy ones raised up coming out entered city became visible These VERBS show a conscience action.

Consider this: ( after being raised up or thrown out, whichever you prefer), "THEY BECAME VISIBLE to many people.")

Many of those "holy ones" had probably turned to dust over the years. There would have to be a transfiguration for them to BECOME visible.

If the (bodies, or corpses, whichever you prefer) were in a solid form then they would be visible. No need to BECOME visible.

Even if it were a corpse, it would be in such a state of deterioration as to not be recognizable. So something miraculous must have happened for dust and deteriorated bodies to become visible and recognizable.

As far as bodies being randomly thrown from the graves, the Bible says it was just the Holy Ones. Not all the dead in that area.

No mention of any people being killed by this earthquake.

This org has an AGENDA

fairness, justice, repentence, and love for fellow man is NOT part of that agenda

This religion will go down like all the rest of them.

It too, is part of the false empire of Babylon.

To say the UN is a false representation of God's Kingdom is like the pot calling the kettle black.

This religion itself purports to represent and implement God's Kingdom.

Hopefully, your letter will seal the deal for those lurkers on the fence, but don't have expectations that anyone in the hierarchy will take heed.

I know it must have made you feel a little better to write it and get the words out.

Its always a good thing to give injustice its voice.

For Paul, the "saints" could not arise before Jesus himself has risen. Yet the gloss fails to bring Matthew fully into line with Pauline theology since the bodily resurrection of the righteous dead still takes place before Jesus.

Leolaia, I read your piece. This brings up more questions. Perhaps it's because of our idea of death that we "suppose" Jesus had to "sleep" before rising 3 days later. But....could he have actually "transferred" to his splendored body at the moment of death? If so, then the dead could have resurrected 5 minutes later. (figuratively) There would be no conflict. Jesus would have "risen" first and then his entourage. Meanwhile he went through a spiritual during this ordeal the "travel to Hades" to claim the keys.

Also, I think his entrance into the spirit would not be alone. I feel that he would need his entourage at this time as when he left, he knew he had other work to do "to prepare a place". A big job for just one person. He would need assistance with the execution of future plans.

Also, I keep thinking about the movies "Crimes of the Heart". The girls were always upset that their mother had hung the kitty cat when she hung herself. After attempting suicide herself, one of the daughters realized why the mother hung the cat. Because she did not want to "die alone."

We also see this evidenced in Egyptian culture where slaves were killed and sacrificed when the master died to be put in the tomb to go to the netherworld and continue to serve their master into the next life.

Of course I was about 5 and thought he had to be wrong, since I firmly believed they went with Jesus to heaven and were the beginning of the resurrected 144,000.

ynot, this is what I think, too. Only I think this was THE event and All 144,000. I am looking for more evidence to support that theory.

Met anyone Famous? What were they Like?

maybe an actor, politician, musician?

I met Eddie Rabbitt and didn't know who he was at the time. Also met Hank Williams, Jr.

My feature writer friend had interview and invited me to go. Now, you must understand...I do NOT like country music. It has never appealed to me and I never listen to it. So I was just along for the ride.

We were invited to party at the Hilton after the concert. I got stuck sitting next to Eddie and he could have been Joe Blow for all I know. Anyway, he started coming on to me and I said something to put him in his place. Then, I left because I thought the whole bunch of them were disgusting. Bocephus left to celebrate his birthday with an orgy. I heard all about it from my friend the next day. She said after I left Eddie was so insulted. He kept saying "That damn girl walked out on me! I never had no girl walk out on me." (I suppose he thought he had some kind of claim on me because he sat beside me. Guess he must have thought I was a groupie. Ha! )He was really puzzled or miffed, I guess. That was when she told me who he was. I said "so? Who's Eddie rabbit? What's he supposed to be?"

Another time, one of my Atlanta friends asked me..."*Tula* if you met Burt Reynolds would you throw your panties at him?" I laughed so hard. Said there's not enought money in the world to make me do something like that. He said "No, I didn't think you were the type. That's good. You are invited to my party. Burt will be there." So I got to go to the party. Other celebs there, but I guess I live a sheltered life and am not much impressed with celebrity. I am just as matter-of-fact with them as I would be meeting any of you all in person.
