Diary of a thinking to return ex-Jw

i thought long and hard about posting this but the mis-information on this site finally persuaded me, i already accept many may not accept what i say on face value and get their appologist pens ready for making sure no pro-witness propaganda slips through the net on this site but here goes....... i've been on this forum for a few months my first post was about how i was thinking of returning to jw's and at my sisters recommendation to look at this site for both sides of the story before taking that step.. i faded from jw's 10/11 years ago now i left my hubby at the time divorced him to going on to have more relationships and kids, i was definately given the impression after asking on this site and with what i read that if i tried to return i might face df or at least a jc but definately a couple of elders questioning me over what i've been upto these last few years - none of these have happened.

i talked with an old jw friend (yes i do have then and she never shunned me quite happily accepted an offer of coffee from me and my asking for a chat) i told her i was interested in going back and was very frank about what i done in the last 10 years but not sure how returning was done now, she quite happily said she go ask for me to find out.. result!

she came back this week and said "all i had to do was goto meetings again" and an offer of a study was there for me if i wanted it to explore the open doubts that i had expressed i now had.. not quite the fire and brimstone welcome this site led me to believe would happen.. i will keep you posted with further updates if i feel the need to put them in future.. .

Go Back if you feel it will make you happy.

BUT I garuntee you will never be happy there because it's all built on lies and rubbish.

if you like hearing lies and believing them to be true, go back.

if the future you want sacrifices the present, go back (it's not the real future but so what?).

If you want conditional friends, go back.

If you want to be dominated by humans, go back.

if you want to cast off your own personality and be someone else, go back.

if you want others to judge your life and emotionally blackmail you, go back.

if serving an organization makes you happy, go back.

However if you want a LIFE that you live for you, then go out there and get one, because if you go back then YOU have given your life to them to control and decide for you what is right and wrong.

Please don't go back, the price is way too high.

he said he was just checking addresses because my house was on the "do not call" list, and he was checking to see if the same people lived here or had moved away.

so i told him that nobody that lives in this house has asked jw's not to call, and that it was probably at the request of my ex-wife who knows i don't attend anymore.. so he gives me that ookaaayy look..... i'm out working in the yard and so we sit down in the garage to have a chat..... he doesn't know me, but i remember him from a different cong., and he doesn't know i da'd myself over 5 years ago.

he also doesn't know how much i've learned and how long i've been waiting for this day!.

Brilliant! I've often been in the situation where out of misplaced respect I've not said what I wanted to or got tounge tied but it sounds like you had your say.

could you offer him a study in the TRUTH i.e. the reality of the world we live in etc?

I can relate to the glazed eyes bit my sister who's still in does that.

Thanks for the experience I live in a do not call house the previous owners set it up and I've never changed it. After all I don't want everyone coming round on a rainy day for Coffee...

First of all WELL DONE to Koolaid and those who support you in this protest, and Thank you for representing those who speak out.

Also They did Prophesy about 1975 I was there! and 1975 was the date that the big "A" was coming no argument. (except it did'nt come...) There were alot of red faces all round, alot of people with BIG mortgages they had no way of paying and loads who had sold up planning to spend every penny by the end of that year. What year oh yes 1975.

Just because you were OK, that does'nt mean that it's OK. The closed community of a cong is fertile breeding ground for child abuse of more than one kind.

Sexual abuse is one of many ways to be abused. Mental abuse is also rife!

If you don't agree that's your opinion but there are many many hundreds who disagree with you and from my own knowledge and experience the question at the beginning of this thread is a valid and real one.

The whole Auntie/Uncle thing is a way of making you trust people who your gut instinct tells you stay away from. If you were not a witness these people would not be in your circle of associates as your instinct tells you to stay away. But we as little ones, minors etc are told by our seniors to call these people Aunty/Uncle. An artifical relationship is then created and we trust against our better judgement.

Then it all can go wrong.

bone marrow for dummies

please forgive my ignorance but i need to know.

when someone gets a bone marrow transplant does that involve a blood tranfusion?

my friend (who is still in and doesn't know i am out) has a friend who is getting a bone marrow transplant.. i was wondering how much icky worldy blood she will get from the bone marrow donor?.

My sister needs a "Bone Marrow transplant" Neither of us are witlesses anymore so the issue of blood was not an issue if you see what I mean.

I was DNA typed. Apparently for this new procedure you don't even need to be of the same blood type just that some of your DNA markers have to be similar/the same.

What happens then is this:- I am given a drug over a period of 5 days this overstimulates my immune system to produce Stem Cells at an abnormal rate. After the 5 days the Stem Cells are harvested via a type of Dialisis:- Blood is removed and a FRACTION is taken away I.E. the overproduced Stem Cells and given introveniously to my sister.

Apparently it does'nt hurt it's just needles and the 5 days I'm on the drugs I will feel like I have the Flu. Because the typing is a good match, the sucess rate is really good and the risks minimised.

She will need monitoring for a while to see if it's all worked if not then a "Proper" Bone marrow Harvest can be attempted as we are still a match this is as described previously.

My parents who are still witlesses were told that they could not be matched, by one of their loving elders as this was a blood transfusion effectivly (the Bone Marrow Transplant). However it was good to see their faces when I said the new procdure was only a FRACTION so they could have, if they wanted.

Apparently with siblings the chance of a match was 1 in 4 which are pretty good odds, and I was the Lucky one as I now am able to give my sister a "Gift" that no-one else ever could.

As an EX Min Servant (Accounts) I seem to remember that EACH cong was a charity in it's own right with it's own charity no etc. This may have changed in the last few years I don't know.

But it seems to me the UK government is not happy with the number of organizations getting tax relief and would look for ways to eventually stop this relief.

Another issue they were looking at was the educational value of the org, as one of the ways to get relief was to claim that you offered educational benefits to the community, if that was challenged because people were dying as a result of the education, What then??

I really hope the UK goverment has the guts to carry this out as too many orgs like the witlesses get away without paying tax while offering no value to their communities.

This is typical JW bulls**t, Find the negative in something popular and effectivly ban it from the R&F. maybe 1 or 2 people have done something wrong after playing video games but the vast majority view it as fun and harmless.

Could you inmagine how miserable they would be after the big A nothing to do or enjoy, even the field misery not needed anymore what a sad bunch of life wasters.

Playstation can waste a bit of our time, being a JW wastes all of it!

UK Charity Law Changes

you may or may not be aware but the charites act 2006 is now in force and it means that from end 2007 charites (including the jw's) will have to proove that they offer public benefit if they are to still retain their charitable status and in turn get gift aid on nearly every single donation and keep their tax exempt status.. the charity law association made some very interesting comments regarding the witnesses in their memorandum that was submitted in evidence to the joint commitee on the draft charites bill.

their comments on the taylorite sect of the exclusive brethren "excluding children from the family home" is also quite relevant.

Last Century, (always wanted to say that) I was the MS doing the accounts in my local cong.

I seem to remember that the PO said that EACH cong was a charity in it's own right. I'm assuming this is still the case. But it seems to me that the UK charity commission would wonder about this from a fairly small (overall) organization.

The paperwork from the commision was apparently quite onerous and if every cong in the UK had to fill it in and send it off to a deadline etc then the work for the Commision would be quite large for relativly small amounts. maybe their fed up with it all.
