There sure were some fine memories, in working in various assignments. But then came the downsizing. The only jobs now is cleaning, and Attendants. The sisters can't direct traffic so you know what is left. A contribution box, or cleaning.

But, you still can sing "Keep your eyes on the Prize". Except the sisters guarding the contribution boxes, they can sing it, but must keep their eyes on that box.

Ah..the good ol days.

The WT Society has modified their understanding of the Creative day. The Creation Book(1985) brings out this interesting point:

The first part of Genesis indicates that the earth could have existed for billions of years before the first Genesis "day," though it does not say for how long. However, it does describe what earth’s condition was just before that first "day" began: "Now the earth proved to be formless and waste and there was darkness upon the surface of the watery deep; and God’s active force was moving to and fro over the surface of the waters."—Genesis 1:2.

Although this publication states that they can't be sure how long a Creative day existed, and whether the next Creative was greater or less than one another. They relate that the Creation account just provides a succesion of what took place after each other.

The concept of a Creative day being 1,000 years old was an older understanding, and eventually was replaced as more realistic evidence became available to support this understanding. The Society should have left things alone when they couldn't determine just how long a Creative day was. However, it's a mistake that was finally corrected.

Man of all the times to miss, you sure missed a lot. Well here we go.

It was really the year 2075, not 1975. Caused by a missprint. Thanks to the advancement of computers. Sisters can't direct parking at the District Assemblies, but, they can wink at you if your car is cool. There is a new understanding about Oral Sex. It means more than just talking about it. Higher Education was cool, then it wasn't, then it was but you had to pioneer, then the society got hoodwinked again by those over educated weasels who didn't pioneer. So now you can't do it, because of those lying weasels. No one can be trusted in this anymore.

More to come at the District Assembly, that was just this last Thurday, and Friday. What? Don't tell me your missed that?

Field Service time

how many of you did like i did and sometimes added a little more time to our report than we actually had?

i felt so bad when i maybe had only one hour so i would put down maybe 3. you know there was all the incidental witnessing!

i'm so glad the pressure is off and i can enjoy a saturday at home doing nothing.it seems kinda strange that a person would even need to turn time in, just do what you felt you could do and don't be obligated to let anyone know how much it was.

I remember when I was young and living in Quebec. The servant back then would pin all the older reports on the bulletin board in the Kingdom Hall. An announcement was made that the reports were ready to be picked up, now that they were recorded on the Publisher Record cards. I can tell you that there were some major fudging going on there. But that was the good ol days. I never did fudge my time though. I still wonder how the average is supposed to be 10 hrs a month. How is this possibly done, when you can't count your breaks. The Canadian labour law states that you are entitled to a paid break after working two straight hrs. If Caesar gives us 15 minutes, how much time do you think that our Creator is giving us? Field Service time is work, isn't it? Somehow this Field Service time counting is a farce. I have never seen it in the scriptures.

I have seen in the scriptures that Jesus made sure that his disciples had some time to rest. The fact that this is recorded, doesn't it mean that it also is counted as important.

I'm working on becoming a Governing Body member currently, and when I make it there, my first thing to change is this time thing.

UK: Channel 4 - Cutting Edge The End is Nigh broadcast around late 1997

any of you in the uk remember watching a cutting edge documentary on jehovahs witnesses, entitled, "the end is nigh?".

it would have aired around late 1997.. it was about the lives of two couples, one a fitness instructor's courtship with a brother who was a programmer, and the other about a sister who left the truth and came back, eventually getting baptized.. the congregation involved was the abingdon congregation, located in oxford.

I think the couple would still be together if that silly goverment agent didn't revoke that girl's driving licence. That kind of stuff enrages women, and men. Don't want to be partial here.

Does the USA have a Zone Servant?

i know that canada is getting a visit from the zone servant or overseer whatever they're called.

does the usa have one?

or maybe they are in the zone and don't need one.. maybe they have a zone overseer that they don't know about, and it's not public knowledge yet, but soon to be made known in an upcoming wt study lesson.

Maybe they have a Zone Overseer that they don't know about, and it's not public knowledge yet, but soon to be made known in an Upcoming WT study lesson. I have never heard of a Zone Overseer visiting the US and providing a special talk. Aren't they missing out on something?

do you think that he's coming because he found out that some of our youth are attending university, and he's coming to kick our canadian butts?
