Nathan, as I mention above, my intention is to buy a pdf copy, not to get a pirated one for free.
An example of pdf publications sold legally is Lulu.com as you may know.

my dub mother sent me a package today, inside was a nwt bible, a picture of me around age 5 at an assembly - i looked miserable and my dad was holding a battery operated fan in front of me, and a letter, here is the letter.
i ask that you remember that i was 18 when i left and i'm now 42, that there is a total of 8 children in my family and there are only 2 that are still jw's, oh and that my mother is a complete nutcase!
dear nj:.
I would send her the ashes, your brother is right. Its not worth wasting your positive energy on calling her and going off. My moms also a head case and going off on her never seemed to work. She would just turn around and try to accomplish her agenda her own way instead of following my words and instructions. Or you could turn around and send her a REAL bible. ha!
i wasn't aware before watching this video, http://www.tv-links.co.uk/listings/9/4802 (jw's exposed), that beth-sarim ever existed.
one of the few references the wt makes of it is in the 1975 yearbook pg.194.
they made it seem like the funds weren't taken from the wt but at the same time it mentions that a "direct contribution" was made but doesn't specify by who.

They made it seem like the funds weren't taken from the WT but at the same time it mentions that a "direct contribution" was made but doesn't specify by who. Its quite misleading when they make it seem like it was built to benefit Rutherford during his time of sickness and for no other reason. The real reason for building the mansion (not house) was not mentioned because of the embarrassing nature which shows once again the presumptuousness of the late WT President ("Judge") which would have brought greater shame to the WT thereafter had it been publicized in a larger scale. Its amazing to think how many active JW's today have no clue of this place or that it ever existed and for what reasons.
Yeabook 1975 pg.194:
CLOSINGDAYSATBETH-SARIM
By November Brother Rutherford’s critical illness had gained ground and he was compelled to have an operation at Elkhart, Indiana. Thereafter he expressed a desire to go to California. So he was taken to a San Diego residence known as "Beth-Sarim." For some time it was apparent to his associates and the best medical experts that he could not recover.
Briefly it may be said that Brother Rutherford had a severe case of pneumonia after his release from unjust imprisonment during 1918-1919 because of his faithfulness to Jehovah. Thereafter he had only one good lung. It was virtually impossible for him to remain in Brooklyn, New York, during the winter and still carry out his duties as the Society’s president. In the 1920’s he went to San Diego under a doctor’s treatment. The climate there was exceptionally good and the doctor urged him to spend as much time as possible in San Diego. That is what Rutherford did ultimately.
In time, a direct contribution was made for the purpose of constructing a house in San Diego for Brother Rutherford’s use. It was not built at the expense of the Watch Tower Society. Concerning this property, the 1939 book Salvation stated: "At San Diego, California, there is a small piece of land, on which, in the year 1929, there was built a house, which is called and known as Beth-Sarim."
we all know that the watchtower changes are supposed to allow more "pointed counsel".
this will be coming quite soon - i already have my september magazines - so only 6 more issues and we will be into the january 2008 issues.
what are some of the issues that may be addressed in this pointed counsel?.
So I guess since we're not going to be able to look and do research using outside sources, they too will have to begin leaving all of their outside source references out, which are often seen in WT literature.
If they do not this will naturally spark many doubtfull minds that have been on idle for a while. I'm sure they have thought of this but then again probably and more than likely will self justify THEIR research since it is richeous and from the FDS.
im thinking often about finding a therapist to talk my burden off my shoulders.
since many years i have noone to talk to.
im lonely while having plenty of friends.
whats up Freeme. I'm in a similar situation as you since I don't have anyone but this forum to talk to about my concerns on the WTS. Some stuff makes sense and a lot of the other stuff doesn't. I was also born in, raised in, married in, and have a child to think about at the age of 30. My current JW life is not spiritual at all. All the meeting preparing I did as a kid and teenager is non-exsistent now. I have no service attendance with minimal meeting attendance. I usually miss 1 to 2 meetings a week. My wife is not really spiritual since she wasn't raised in that form as opposed to me, my parent were really spirital as I grew up. My dad was an elder for the most part of my growing up and I got up to MS by 19 and was that for a few years until life hit me hard and I decided to step down. Since then I have gradually started opening my eyes to how everything really works in the org regardless of how my dad did his work as an elder and how I dedicated myself as an MS. The disalutionment turn to anger which turn to me opening my eyes. I have yet to read Ray's CofC but have a good idea what part of the contents is about. I'm currently not a a point where I can make a clean exit since I'm not single and it seems my wife still needs or requires spiritual "food" from the meeting in order to not start feeling guilty and depressed from missing consecutive meetings. I have seen this in her. I know it is just a matter of time.
the following are some changes the wts plans to initiate starting 2008. in hearing about this i asked my wife why she thought they were doing these sudden and subtle changes, she had no answer and seemed clueless.
she still fully believes in the borg as opposed to me.
you can more than likely imagine why they are implimenting these changes.. 1. starting jan2008 there will be one watchtower mag.
Good question Mum.
My thoughts on that is that the public that attends or decides to go to the Sunday meeting will be encouraged to stay for the Watchtower study since they will already be there. Therefore any thought that are not understood by the "visitor" could be answered by a loving JW after the meeting leading to a possible bookstudy. Checkmate!
I guess the boys in Brooklyn figure if the people out in field service just want to accept the mags and not do anything else, they will get the censured and light ones where it would be harder for even "apostates" to get inside info and changes as they unfold. I'm sure they will be posting the hardcore stuff in the "JW's only" mags. So in theory, if the public out side of the KH wanted one of these mags, they would have to end up attending a Sunday meeting in person to get one.
armegeddon has finally happened.i am sitting in my dorm room at bethel watching the total destruction of new york city.
the skyline of manhattan is in flames, here in brooklyn, not a building is standing.
hundreds of corpses lie about the street.
My currently half active to inactive JW mind says, "If it happens, it will happen around 2034 (my theory) and if it doesn't happen I'm going straight to heaven when I die!
Just a hunch, something tells me Armagedon & the 144,000 is not literal. Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!

1. Starting Jan2008 there will be one Watchtower Mag. a month dedicated for the public intended for use in FS and one a month dedicated for JW's only and will be used in the Sunday Watchtower studies for that month. It has been made clear that the second one is definitely not to be used out in the ministry since it will contain "deeper" information intended for the "spiritually mature" only, Jw's only.
2. I'm basing this one off of what someone that is related to an elder in another cong. mentioned. Supposedly it was announced from the platform. Starting 2008 the Sunday meetings will no longer be 2hrs long but will now be 1.5hrs long. (Kids will certainly appreciate this one!)
3. The above changes make sense since I have heard about but not yet recieved the Sept. KM where it has been made clear not to have group studies with friends where open thoughts ofcourse would be welcome.
I almost mentioned #3 to my wife and mother in law but stopped myself since they know we haven't gotten our Sep. KM yet and know I really don't keep in contact with anyone from the English Cong. Long story short, a couple of months ago I mentioned the AJWRB website and Ray Franz, CofC, etc., we got into a fight and haven't gone back for more ever since. I realized she still has a while to reach my level, she can't quite comprehend God & the WTS are 2 completely separate entities and the WTS (Governing Body) is NOT the "holy channel" though which god comunicates to all humans. Oh well, one day I'm sure she will se the light.
reading through the posts it seems to be that many of you put in field service reports that are/were inaccurate for one reason or the other.
what were/are your reasons?
what ways did/do you count your time?
Well I just put a couple of hours, its not like anyone is going to say anything to me anyways. They just care about not having to many inactives showing for when the CO comes to visit. Its all about CYA to them.
