  Don't be afraid to change

  well i think it's time for me to pack it in again.

  whenever i come on i eventually get to a point like it's all been said, even if it hasn't been said lately or in a particular way it's not really new, and i'd hate to hear myself ... repeat myself.

  ("allow myself to introduce ... myself") anyway, i was going to make some serious and unnecessarily long post, but instead i think the subject line says it all.

  just had the thought cross my mind: going to a convention dressed up as boy george or that dude from dead or alive, you know from the wedding singer?

  steve bucemi was going "ooo i like her.

  yes, i know along with the baptism with panties thing it must make some people wonder, but my main focus is on something that would mess with them.

  Ever met a "deep" JW?

  my guess is probably not, or if they were they weren't that much of a jw or their perspective isn't so relevant to jw thought - i trust those that have been out a while understand what i mean, hindsight and all.

  what i'd like to do is draw out a contrast that some may have by way of their personal experience, maybe a "worldly person" or other non-jw that is an example of someone that has a great and helpful perspective on life, vs. the jw one.

  there may be people from this board, but i think even a specific telling moment with a simple thing could be good or even better.

  "Food" at the "proper time"

  if you cannot "reach" someone because of certain psychological "blocks," wouldn't that indicate you need to get into their head more, rather than just use pure reason?

  and if people are just more receptive at certain times, doesn't that imply knowing it well enough to see when that is?

  (and unfortunately, they may not be posting at the time) messy as it may be, you gotta know people and be good at it.

  " that's a quote from a lecture given at naropa university on 12 levels of consciousness (or initiation, to use another term) that i go back to from time to time.

  i won't get into the whole thing but a recent experience with someone with kind of an innocent attitude helped me appreciate this point.

  one of the things said was when you've reached a higher level (which is not to imply better in any sense of personal worth, but simply more inclusive in scope/perspective) you automatically have compassion on those who have not reached that level.

  i recently found out about the classical model of education based on three stages of grammar, dialectic and rhetoric - evidently it is of interest with home schooling.

  i wonder if anyone has any input on this.

  i get the basic concept, but am just interested in going a little deeper into it.
