i've always found it interesting that satan isn't mentioned by name in the bible until job.
i found the similarity's between the emergence of jesus' teachings, and the similarities of the zoroaster faith interesting.
i hope you guys will take the time to copy, paste, and read this article.
It is interesting Dawg, I've also done a bit of research on the amount of Kabbalistic symbolism in the bible, extremely interesting stuff.

i just watched a movie, that although i thought might be a lemon in the beginning turned out to be one of the most interesting movies i've ever seen.
it's called a man from earth, which focuses around a 14,000 year old man divulging to his university co-workers/friends, at his goodbye party, that he is in fact, 14,000 years old.
alot of religious debate in the movie and fascinating conversation.
Ynot: Me too! Especially when she asked if that was the first time he had been around for a death of his child!
Makes you wonder though if he had chosen that particular college because William was there.
Too bad it was Bixby's last work.......
Agreed, I caught that right away as well. And I thought the same about the college. Yup, too bad it was his last work. I absolutely loved the total destruction of everyone in the room's long held beliefs of reality and how one afternoon of conversation completely altered their perspectives, even though, most left believing it was a hoax.
tremble when it thunders, and the window panes vibrate and you can hear the sloshing sound of rain against the parched roof baking in the august heat?
do you drift back in time when you hid your face in a pillow from the thunder and shaking walls and could scarcely think of looking at the magic monster in the clouds?
what name do you hear when the sound of the thunderous rainstorm calls?
I love thunder. It has only scared me once, when I was pregnant with my second child and I was visiting my parents and the lightening was touching down in the field right in front of their house (the thunder was so loud it was hard to talk over it),so yeah, hormones and all it kinda freaked me out.
Other than that, I love hearing the pouring rain and pounding thunder. The only voice I've heard during thunder and lightening however, is me screaming, "Oh god", and not while praying. hehehehehe. :D

Ynot: Lol I love the reference to Star Trek........

Cute movie......but I hated the ending....with William, he could have had a bit more emotion.

Yeah I loved that part too, but in reference to the William part, I thought it was brilliantly acted because if you had lived 14,000 years and went thru the pain and loss of that many lifetimes, I would think it would only be "human" be become somewhat numb. I thought that was a very poetic ending to the movie. That humans weren't meant to withstand the loneliness and loss of that many lifetimes. But maybe that's what I got from it.
I also wondered if the chick at the end of the movie was like him, did you notice the looks she had while he talked, she never really questioned him like the others at all and then it looked like she left with him. Hmm, I thought that was interesting.
