I am reaching out to those who are in doubt but need reaching out to I was quiet about my feelings for years because I had no-one to reach out and I want people to know there is people out there going through what they went through and they are not alone .
we may all argue in here like a family would but we are all in here for the same reason. (Another void in our life)

trick or treating
by teejay inof all the holidays, for me halloween has the least appeal.. i have a memory of going trick-or-treating once, at my "worldly" father's insistence (he roasted peanuts in the oven for the door-knockers... i remember), about the time my mom learned the truth.
i must've been about five years old.. despite the fact that i'm a hard-core agnostic and a fear of gods or demons are a non-issue, i still have trouble encouraging kids -- under the guise of costumes and fun -- of extorting treats from neighbors.
can i get a witness?

Lets not forget this is another day to watch the excitement in are childrens eyes lets give them something they can believe and look forward to as a child before they grow up and reality sets in.
This is something I was able to share with my daughter visiting with are neighbors ( who treated me better then the borg I grew up with at least they accepted me ) and the giggling she just scored and my inner warmness (from the over-sized rum and coke I was drinking and the warm greetings I was getting from worldly assocition I was warned against). It just goes to show me the Jws have been around since the late 1800s but good neighbors have been around alot longer. -

Put aside for a moment your statis of the organization, it's saturday morning and your on the other side of the ole familar knock."Hello i'm brotherdoesnthavealife I haven't seen you in a while" how would you react?
It happened to me after about 6 years of being inactive and it was an elder and a C.O. I was nice as I coulld be but I told them if they wanted to know my true feelings to send the three elders to my house which was over the meetings of my wrong doings growing up and to make a long story short I never heard from them again. -

Welcome to the board Pablo
Your story sounds so familar. I to grew up in a family where they thougt that every detail of growing up had to be discussed with the elders and I also wasn't baptized but in those days they handled it different,P.R at age 15 D.A. at age 16 I got back in because of the shunning of my family itmopened my eyes as to how the organization operated so I never did get baptized and slowly faded away from it all when I left home. It took several years of therapy to get over that whole ordeal. All I can say is follow your heart and don't let the guilt tactics get you down.
