  been looking for this movie and i don't trust these so called dvds for a simple reason, most of them are copies directly from a vhs tape, so the quality will be grainy and such.. it's not officially out on dvd but i am trying to reach lindsay wagner to see if she can do anything to get this movie be released on dvd.. but, if anyone has a copy that has a very good quality viewing and knows how to convert vhs to avi or something of that nature, i just wanna see that movie again.

  it stuck on me since i first saw it, left me with a very good impression of the storyline in this film.

  I need a good excuse

  i am thinking of stepping down from my position in the congregation.

  this is the first big step to my fade from the jw world.

  i talked to my wife about it and she told me that she thought it was best i did because there is no reason to do something if your heart is not wanting to do that.

  it is so much easier to just say "i may be able to talk about it later, but i am stepping down for some very personal (or personal family) reasons, i'm sure you understand"......then be done with it....if any asshole would ask for details......you say, "as i said, it is very personal and i am not able to talk about it right now....maybe later".....which is a very kind way a person having a prob says myob!!!..........see........keep is simple!!!.........oompa.

  this is exactly what i did when i changed halls and would not accept reappointment......nobody every bothered me about it

  they prob thought it was a masturbation problem........hey!...you may want to use that!....'me and my wife are both porn addicts and we masturbate all the time".......lol

  Anyone have Russell Cantwell as Circuit Overseer?

  in the 60s when i first started associating with jws in southern california our circuit overseer was russell cantwell.

  he was one of the plaintiffs in the landmark supreme court case cantwell vs connecticut.

  i had bro. cantwell as my co....prob in late 70's or early 80's.....but i cant recall his first name dammit......he had a good sense of humor.....his first visit he said it was easy to remember his name cantwell....as he cant do anything well........oompa

  My best friend's Mother died this morning ....

  indeed she was of failing health and the loss was not unexpected.. what makes this a story however is how her only son handled her last days in a nursing home.. you see mother was an active jw who had chosen virtually no contact with her disfellowshipped son or grandchildren for over 40 years.

  the local congregation had permanently marked my friend as evil and although few had seen him for decades the group went along with this summary judgement and treated him as less than human.. as mother lay dying surrounded by several of her fellow believers, my friend reportedly conducted himself with honor and respect, both for his mother's wishes to have a service at the kh after her passing and also for the beliefs of those gathered in that small room at the home.. in my opinion, my friend showed forgiveness to his enemies in spite of suffering a lifetime of social banishment.

  he also showed deep respect for a mother who had abandoned him and his family many years ago.. if there is a god in heaven, i pray he would reward my dear friend ....

  when you write a letter to bethel, you will receive an acknowledgement letter.

  it usually starts by stating the date of your letter, and they restate the general question or matter you wrote about.

  then they will give a non-committal answer, and encourage you to study and preach.

  welcome bluecanary!......what was your issue and how long ago was it if you can share......

  if you write a really tough question and back it up with WT material quotes.... they really dont want to answer cause it will prove them fradulant about something they are currently teaching.......you will NOT get a reply with the answer.....you will get a very, very, very rare letter......that states they will send some info to your local elders to share with you.....and then they may read parts of it to you but you can not get a copy.....man does that set off warning alarms......spooky..........oomps

  most elders are freaked out by this too as they have never been put in this position.......

  i hated it when i heard elders and other witnesses tell a suffering person, "just wait on jehovah".

  if a person continued waiting (and suffering) they were told that jehovah was "allowing" them to be tested.

  too many people waited for nothing!.

  someone told me recently that paul was obviously still under satans influence when he wrote!!.........hey he was a persecutor of christians.....and he put stuff in there NOBODY else did.....things that make christianity much harder.........like satan would do.........oomps

  wt does say satan and his earthly cronies changed stuff in the bible.....so why not just have him write it how he wants paul to?......
