ProdigalSon, that is a great scripture. second time in a week i have seen it here. i have always liked it cause it says god creates evil, but it does say "I form the light and create darkness"...not that the baby jesus did. how does wt explain away this scripture??......oompa

i have always thought that really odd...dont creators like to create? most artists of all types love what they do and they keep creating beautiful art for many years...perhaps their entire life...
can you imagine a great artist creating only one work of art, then quitting, and being content to watch some other artist create ALL other art while the resting artist somehow still gets all the credit?.................................oompa

How I Know The Assembly Parts Are Made Up
by lovelylil inwe had a co looking for a certain experience for an assembly part coming up and the elders in my hall at the time sent him to see me, since i usually had good experiences out in field service.. anyway, after speaking with the co, i was sorry to inform him that i did not have an experience that suited the type he needed.
he told me that was o.k.
because he could use me anyway for another part.

i hate to pee on anyones cornflakes but im pretty sure made up experiences are the exception, not the rule. i have only had one DC part and and two CA parts. my experience was mine word for word and i was not asked to change anything....not only that but i have heard dozens of experiences from people i know and they were all legit too.
i have heard some though that i had serious doubts about....so how common do you think the tall tales are?................................oompa

i came to full awareness recently after finding a work-mate who also had "seen the light" finally.. i was born/raised a jw, having made some pretty big sacrifices in the name of the organization, even moving to where the need was greater before the start of high school.
needless to say, small mid-west farm towns don't look too highly on jw's.

Finally getting my life in order.
by JonathanH ini've been out for a few years now, officially ousted and shunned for probably a year and a half, maybe even closing in on two years, the exact date eludes me.
and given that i was still married to a witness, and one that i cared deeply about, i wasn't overly concerned with what i wanted, so much as how to make things better for her.
in the intervening time i think i have done that, and quite well.

Were There/Are There A Number Of Gays At Bethel?
by minimus ini remember the "boy's club" mentality from many of the bethelites in the 70's and 80's.
it seemed there were a number of males who were "effeminate" back in the day.. i knew of one guy that was told by the bethel brass that he would "go places" at headquarters if he could learn to deepen his voice and tone down his gestures a bit (and he was told it wouldn't hurt if he ever married a fellow bethelite sister).
this man was extensively used at conventions, became less "gay looking" and got married.. so my question is, did you see effeminate men in bethel?
