What JT said above is absolutely correct. That is EXACTLY how it works in the organization!!

Field Service Reporting To Book Study
by Coqui inabout three or four months ago the organization changed the way field service time is reported... they decided that everyone would not drop their time card in a box in the kingdumb hall but rather leave the report with their book study conductor.
i liked the fact before that i could leave the report with someone i seldom saw.
with the change i realized that with this change the elders had even more control and influence on me.

You know what I love best about reporting time.........that the org always said never to compare yourself with others in the congregation.....yet the elders and CO always said you should be getting the congregation average or you're considered spiritually weak. So we weren't compared to our fellow bros and sis's in our congregation.....just everybody else in the US. Gee....that makes me feel so much better!! And then to top it off, they Society always give the experience of sister so-and-so in the Congo in Africa who hardly has any money to eat, has 10 kids, and lives in a hut, but gets 97 hours in field service a month. So we here in the states could really learn from her example......gee, no guilt there!!!!! Glad I'm out of the borg!!!!!!!

The Loving Elders
by MoeJoJoJo inthis is what has been happening with us lately.
we (my husband and i) have not been to any meetings in over a year.
the elders have stopped by quite often (once they stopped by and they were here from 10:30 12:00, they left the others in their car group, out in the car the whole time!!

Dear MoeJoJoJo.....
My wife and I are in a similar predicament. We have faded away, and have gotten lot's of calls from the elders (we have caller ID and don't answer) and they have come by our house several times, but we haven't been home. What irritates the HELL outta me is they always do it out in service because it's convenient for them since they are already dressed up, and...they get to keep their time going since they really don't want to go door to door...so it gives them an excuse not to. (Hey...let's go call on brother and sister so-and-so since we haven't seen them for a while) But my wife and I have family in the org, so we will never DA ourselves. I realize at some point, I will have to let our family know that we don't attend anymore (they still don't know yet) But my wife and I have talked in great length about what we will say, and we are basically going to say that we are just tired, we're mentally burned out, and suffering from depression. And that if things ever change, we'll be contacting YOU! (I'll let you know how it goes when we finally tell them) But we feel this is the best way. We'll still be able to have contact with out family, and hopefully they'll leave us alone. I know in your circumstances it might be a little too late for this, but try and make the best of it. Remember, only you can control your life, not anyone or any religion.

"Wanted to add that I told them at the kingdom hall that I did not believe all the stuff they teach. They tried to explain their way of seeing things but I just was honest with them and they left me alone."
Well, all I can say is WOW!! I wish it was that easy for everybody. If it was that easy, we'd all be moving on with life. But IT AIN'T! Of course, I do realize that you had this type of response because you're just a tag-along with your wife. But if you only understood how it is NOT like this when we as JW's decide to leave. There is much pain and anguish, especially when we have family members still in. So please understand why some of us here may have a negative attitude.....it's all part of the healing process so that we in time can "move on" too.

Yes the WT Told Millions of Youth NO COLLEGE!!
by JT in*** watchtower september 1 1975 p.543 questions from readers *** .
how many years of secular education are advisable for children in christian households?
today, there are many teenage baptized servants of jehovah... how far should they go with a secular education?

Hey, Garybuss........that's classic.
Millions now living will never learn. WTB&TS inc.
Aint it the truth.......and sad to say I'm one of them. But I'm changing that as we speak. I get my associates in just a few more months and then it's on to a bachelor's. This is the one thing that pisses me off more than anything.....the Society telling you not to get an education. Just all be a bunch of dumbf*cks working as janitors or window washers, but you're making Jehovah's heart glad. What a bunch of BS!!!

The Elder That Masturbated
by minimus inyears ago, at an elder's school, the subject of secret sins and masturbation was discussed.
the instructer mentioned how "secret sins" could affect the spirit of the congregation.
when the subject of masturbation was"handled", a brother decided to put his hand up to "confess".this was obviously not meant to be a question and answer discussion, but the co called on the elder.

I bet all those elders thought twice about shaking his hand again.............

My Big Fat Greek Wedding

Hi Marilyn. My wife and I saw it last weekend. And I guess great minds do think alike. I was thinking the exact same thing when that statement was made about being Greek defining who you are. It was actually very good advice to apply to oneself upon leaving the JW's. My wife and I have talked quite a bit about it. We both know there are things about ourselves we will never change because of how we are raised. And we're okay with that. So we are going to try and apply that statement to ourselves.......and hopefully, we'll become even better people.
PS I thought it was a chick flick myself, but everybody talked about how good it was, so I went. LMAO!!!

My Dumb Ass JW Brother
by Reborn2002 inas some of you know from my sharing portions of my story on this board before, i disassociated myself from the jehovah's witnesses in 2001. my family, including my mother, sister, and brother, remain jehovah's witnesses.
i have an extremely limited relationship with my mother and sister.
i possess no relationship whatsoever with my brother, his wife, and their now 1 yr old son.

My wife's family are extremely staunch dubs with no college education. They have been living close to the poverty line for as long as my wife and I have known each other. (12 years) Her parents have saved nothing for retirement and are heavy in debt. And her sister and husband are the same way. Yet they continue to be martyrs for the truth saying that this is the way Jehovah's people should be, have absolutely nothing materially and put the truth first. And for as long as we've been married, we've worked full time so that we can have a home and save for retirement. But they constantly look down on us as being materialistic. I guess if owning a home and taking care of it and having decent cars is materialistic, I guess we are then...:) And then to top it off, since they're always broke, we end up giving them money (well, my wife does, and I always object to her doing it) I guess Jehovah does provide..... What a joke!!!!!

The Society is Loving all this Fighting
by LovesDubs inyou know they read this.
you know they love it when we fight.
you know we feed directly into their twisted logic that they have love and we dont....when we fight and hurt each other its like turning on all the lights during a blitz...the enemy can see where you are and can destroy you.

Well, lets look at it this way. If we didn't argue and have differening opinions, we'd be just like a certain organization that we're all familiar with that requires nobody disagree with them and opinions are not tolerated. And if you do disagree, then your ass is no longer welcome. So while I don't enjoy fighting, at least we have the free minds to express ourselves and disagree.
