I've never heard of anything like that in the states.
You haven't??? Back in the old days (1940's and even into the '50's, blondie or someone can get the exact dates), JW's in the USA were beaten, put in jail, tarred and feathered, made to drink whole bottles of Castor Oil, all kinds of ill-treatment like that. Some of it happened in Kentucky, in the same Circuit that I was once in. Some of the people (including women!) that it happened to were still alive and could tell you first-hand what it was like. The stories are in the old Yearbooks, and some in the older Awake!'s. Up in Walkill area the farmers were planning an attack on WT property (and inhabitants). It went so far as the roads around the property being filled with cars full of men with mayhem in mind and until the last minute, the police were letting it go on.
I'm not in that area any more but I am still in contact with non-JW locals. Even now people I know still talk about what they'd like to do to Kingdom Halls and Jehovah's Witnesses. The hate is not dead in the USA, it's still smoldering.

So people with degenerative brain diseases who can no longer 'actively support Jehovah's work' are now of Satan?!!
"Active Support" can include door-to-door, phone witnessing, all those physical things, but it can also include donations. The ones too ill or feeble to turn in time can still turn in cash (credit cards also acceptable in some locations).
For those whose backs are against the wall on the issue of "active support", remember, prayer counts too, and nobody can say you aren't doing it. Sister, are you actively supporting Jehovah's work? Oh, yes, Brother, I pray for the truth to be made manifest in every corner of the world!

God \ Universe
by ballistic inhi there, i don't claim this is true, it just came to me just now, perhaps you can point out any logical errors etc i've made or any other conclusions?.
.
there may be or may not be a god.. there is definately a universe.. the universe may have been created by god or may have come into existance of it's own accord.. neither the universe nor god can come into existance at a particular point in time as there was no time prior to the universe - it didn't exist.. only at the universe's creation did time begin therefore god never existed for a certain amount of time prior to it.. my conclusion is that god is the universe or the universe has always existed along with god?.

1.) A pink house. 2.) A black dog. 3.) A baby brother.
1. We moved next door to a pink house.
2. My grandmother's neighbor had a black dog and I was allowed to pet it.
3. My brother was born when I was seven.

You might be surprised... I saw a homeless couple sitting in a bus shelter yesterday, and the man was reading an Awake! magazine. When the bus pulled up I thought the guy would throw the magazine away or leave it behind, but he didn't. He marked his place and took the magazine on the bus with them.
Heck, I even read some of the articles if I see a clean magazine on a bus bench or somewhere. It's not about believing what you read, at least not with me. It's more about having something to do while waiting around, and seeing what other people believe. It's food for thought.

Am I mistaken or are these stupid mistakes on watchtower.org?
by WontLeave inam i the only one who notices a couple of problems with this?.
first of all, passover is on 15 nisan, not 14.. the sheep should prove to be sound, a male, a year old, for you.
you may pick from the young rams or from the goats.

Does this have anything to do with the fact that WT calculates their dates from a different starting point that is common? (Something about when the sun sets or rises over Jerusalem.)
What's the difference anyway? If you do things the Witness way it doesn't matter, and if you don't, it still doesn't matter!
They're not stupid, they're Watchtower!

Found Sheep: The pages on this forum are numbered. They start at 1. The current page is 10,000. Years ago, when I started reading this forum, the current page was somewhere around page 250. You can click on Page 1 and work your way through if you want to, and I did. I thought back to all the posters who have long since left the forum, and about the ones who are still here, about the newer posters, how people seem to flock in and flock back out, and how the board has evolved since 'way back then.
My question is: where did you (any "you", any poster who cares to respond) come in (start reading the forum)? Note that I didn't ask when a poster joined, only when a person started reading here.
It's been an interesting journey for me, from thinking that demons would jump out of the monitor if I typed "Jehovah" into a browser, to distrusting everything I read, to being afraid to post, being afraid of "getting caught"....through the years until now, when I wonder why I was ever afraid in the first place!
Sometimes it's good to go back and reflect.
