Help! Rev. 1:11, someone expain?
by FRUSR8TD inso here i am just reading my the book of revelation in my bible (nkv)..and i'm thinking "how can they read this and not see that jesus and god are the same?
so i get out my wife'ss bible (nwt) and boom there it is...my bible has the alpha and omega refrence in rev 1:11...hers does not.
i then take a look at rev 22:19 and there it has the punishments for adding or deleting anything from this book.

I looked up the original greek text at www.blueletterbible.com and sure enough...the Alph and Omega refrence is there.
so..anyone able to tell me what they tell the rank and file about this? I know of course that it is to fit the scripture to there doctrine rather than fitting the doctrine to the scripture. But I would like to know how they "reason" it away to the regular JW. This can't be the smokeing gun I think it is. There is no way of denying that that part of the verse was taken out of the NWT.

Hmmm....I think you may need to spend some time in a science class...
if you take any form of matter down to the very basic building blocks you would see that indeed...a can of beer DOES = a tree AND= a cube of ice! What makes the diffrence is the effect that diffrent types of energy have on these forms of matter. By the way...gravity is a form of energy...hence the reason it effects light...another energy.

You are soooooo wrong. You dont have to look to the bible for proof either.
God made the world around us mimic the trinity in so many ways.
Think about it...time---past, present, future----all THREE are time.Matter----solid, liquid, gas----all THREE are matter.(example:water, ice,steam----yet all H20)
Again....simple science proves the bible. ; the trinity (or 3 in one)
does not only go...it is a rule of phycics!!
How nice of god to give us these perfect examples of his nature in the
world around us, so that we may understand him better.

I'm sure you get lot's of these but I just wanted to make a post saying....hey thanks. When my wife went back to the witnesses I had a very hard time. I made the mistake of finding all "the bad" things (NOTE:hard to find anything else) about the (B)ORG. All I did is push my wife further in. However (after about 3 months) I figured out my mistake and stoped hounding her. The problem was now I was sitting here with all of this blatent information about the BORG and well getting very FRUSR8TD about the fact that I could not get her to see it. All of our freinds were at first telling me to let her alone and that she had a right to find what works for her...that was untill I explained the issue on blood and how that could affect our kids....then they were totally understanding of my position. They were very helpful for a while in giveing me some folks to bounce my FRUSR8TION off of. But hey...they really did not have a vested intrest and after a while...I could see that the issue was getting a "bit old". I recalled (from Randy's site) the link to tis board....so I came in...made a profile and settled in. This board has become very important to me. It gives me a sounding board with some folks that have a very good understanding of what I am going through. It has also given me something even more valuable....hope. I see so many here that had been in the borg for 5, 10, 20, 50 years...some elders, COs, even former bethel folk. That tells me that there is allways the chance that my wife will wake up. that like the addict that decides to get clean there will be that moment of clairety. If I did not have this "venting" place all of this FRUSR8TION would eventually build up and well I don't know how long I could refrain from "pointing out the oviouse" to her....(allways ends up in a bad fight). In a way this board has so far been helping to save my marage. This is no small thing Simon, I hope you truly understand what this board means to a lot of people. You may think that all you did is set up some equipment and software, but I think that you have done something truly special here. Not many others would spent the time, money and other resorces you have to do this. So..well...thanks Simon, you are truly a great man.

the thing that gets me as blatent spiritual abuse is the org. telling you what these things mean. I had candles at my wedding...and did not even have a thought of "spirits". As a matter of fact I did not even know about the origin of them. I FRUSR8TS me that they tell there people what it means rather than let them decided what it means for THEM. To me...Halloween is nothing more than the kids gettin dressed up and haveing fun...I (nor my kids) dont care about the origins. that's not what it means to us! Haveing an american flag up is not "worshiping" my government! and haveing pride in your country is NOT wrong either...I'm sure we all have pride in our homes...otherwise they are disgusting stinky messes. That is the kind of pride I have. If I were a witness though, I would not be able to make that choice...the BORG would tell me what it means to me and that's it!......SOMEBODY SLAP THESE FOLKS AND WAKE THEM UP!!!
