My Cong- "Large Witness Gatherings are Banned!! And fancy dress? Why?

a year ago in my cong, an elder who must be hitler's love child, gets up and tells us how some brothers are planning a fancy dress party, a large social gathering.

sounds fun i though!

"brothers a sincere christian would not attend such a gathering, we are warning you not to go near it.

that a lot of the people on these sites are people in the organization.

well, they probably assume that.

but i wonder if they are aware of people that have been going to these sites for years but just staying in for various reasons.

They could go down the happy clapper route and get all loved up, start being nice to people, less judgemental etc etc. This might upset the right wing die hards but it would certainly attract more people to the borg. Unfortunately I think the people at the top are so far removed from the life of the average witness that they really don't seem to be able to comprehend what is happening at the grass roots level. Everyone goes in to pretend mode when the CO arrives, so he reports back that everthing is hunky dory.

What a difference a year makes.

last year on this date... i was burned out as an elder, school overseer, book study overseer, etc... my monday nights were shepherding calls, phone calls, judicial committe meetings.

tuesday nights i conducted the theocratic ministry school and usually had a service meeting part.

wednesday nights i had a bible study with a family from the territory.

so my mom sends me this to me and i hate these jw forward things- .

i want to have a good response when she asks if i got it- because i feel like it has nothing to do with jw's, just a coincidence.

i feel like she thinks i hate god, but it has nothing to do with him- it's the religion itself.

Yuck, I read about a couple of witness children, a brother and sister that were being abused by their step father. The little boy prayed every night for the abuse to stop. He said he would do anything, pioneer and dedicate the rest of his life to God if He would stop the abuse. Guess what, the abuse didn't stop.

If this is a true story and not witness urban myth, I'm suprised they have given the tacit approval for adopting chilren. Maybe this is their new tactic as the minisrty is now dead as a dodo.

Disgusting, why would God answer the prayers of one child and yet ignore others? This make God out to be a hypocrite.
