Some help please- advice

i knew this would come up but what has me questioning myself is where some of my resistance is coming from.. my wife and i have a baby on the way in nov. (a little girl) anyway my mom immediately started applying pressure to me to go back to meeting and of course to attend the convention.
that is not the surprise.

This is a dangerous cult and should be handled as such. Read Steve Hassans book on Cults - JW's are in there.
If adults can be duped and deceived by them how much more so your children - avoid at all costs.
Do you really want your litlle girl mixed up with these people?, they don't give a shit about your daughter - think about the awake magazine with all the dead kids on the front.
I will never let my daughter go to a kingdom hall.

Is the evil we experience in our lives just "collateral damage" in the issue of universal sovereignty?
by gubberningbody init's not as if i have questions that need resolving.
i know things would likely have been better if jehovah had been listened to.
i am also ready and willing to do what he wants me to do, however exactly what that is isn't so clear.. if we're just pawns and the world is just a chess game between jehovah and satan, then i'm not sure i can wrap my mind around the length of the match and the things that have happened during this time period.. surely we wouldn't consider it morally upright to use humans in this way to prove a point to satan and the angels?.

Gran is ill, but still won't let me visit.
by LouBelle ini totally disagree with the shunning practise and even as a jw i did not think it was a godly practise and refrained from it.. my jw gran has been admitted into frail care because her legs and feet are going numb.
i wanted to go visit her to offer help, be it financial, emotional, or even physical, but was told not to go as she still doesn't want anything to do with me.....your loss gran.. .

You missed my caveat about the witnesses. They say that they vist more, care more, love more.
The reality is they don't. What they preach, give talks, and is in the literature is far from the reality.

I remember a brother that joined jwfacts for a joke and made up a profile without a picture. He had LOTS of sisters contacting him. I thought it was quite sad that so many women were so desperate.
