  Bethel Tour Canceled Due to Lack of Interest?

  just left my sister who is definitely still in.

  she was scheduled to go on a bethel tour this summer, but she said it was canceled.

  she stated that apparently not enough interest was shown.. anyone else hear of something like this?.

  Is it bad to be an agnostic?

  on a prior thrread someone asked about one true religion .

  i think that is kind of agnostic thinking .

  as i grow older and develop more perspective on life it seems that an agnostic view is really just an honest view no dogma no preconcieved ideas just observations.

  I believe we were created . I believe life has a purpose. I believe I will never find the ultimate truth and I'm ok with that . I believe Im glad I am alive and posting on this site.

  the jw's and several other "the end is near" religions would have us believe that we are living in the last days, because the world is worse now that it has ever been before.... so then: .

  if you could choose to live at any time period in human history what time period would it be?.

  but here's the catch: you don't get to choose who you are, what race you are, what sexual orientation you are, or even what gender you are... you could be a poor black straight woman in asia, or a rich white gay guy in europe, or some random hermaphrodite, or anyone else.

  1914 is becoming an embarrassment to the WT and they know it, thats why they don't trumpet it as their main doctrine anymore.

  I think the world is getting worse but not because of 1914, it just is. If you can't choose what or where to come back then pretty much take your pick as there has always been suffering on a large scale.

  whilst a jw, one thing that was evident to me was the constant gossip and backbiting.....being nice to someones face and then talking about them behind there backs.were you ever a "victim" of this sort of behaviour???

  is it as common as i suspect from cong.

  we had this older indian sister in our congregation, she invited me to her house to "try her curry" one evening.

  I know a brother who's taking a shower with an elders wife when the elder comes home unexpected, he spent all night naked in the wardrobe.

  I honestly think witnesses are no better than anyone else, they're just better at hiding it.

  I had 2 JC's. What is it with wanting to know every little gory detail? Did anyone else experience that?

  Inattentive elders...anyone else experience this?

  everyone always talks about the elders and people in the congregation coming around to see why you aren't at meetings...but i've never experienced this.

  i've been away from the meetings for months, and not one single elder has called me.

  my friends occasionally call me but never bring up my lackluster attendance.

  I was an inactive publisher for 2 years and not one elder said a word, no calls, no nothing. That was one of the things that made me think that they really don't give a shit. In my more recent sojourn, same again - nothing - it's great!!

  We had this older Indian sister in our congregation, she invited me to her house to "try her curry" one evening. She gave me the impression other people would be there. When I arrived she came to the door in a very revealing sari - her stomach was exposed and her legs. All the lights were out apart from scented candles. She then proceeded to pledge her undying love and said she would do "anything" for me. It was embarrassing to say the least. Apparently I wasn't the only one she did that to.

  We had a friend who used to live on her own, she had this elder turn up un announced at 10 at night to give her a "shepherding call", he insisted, virtually forcing his way in and came on to her because he thought she was a lonely sister that needed some loving. She told him to get lost, when she complained to the elders they all closed ranks on her and told her she was imagining it.

  here's a thought guys......prove that jesus existed at all..using anything besides the bible....or the writings of josephus (which have been proven tampered with by the early christian church).

  you are all arguing a moot point...not only has the 'organization' been deceiving you.....but the bible itself is a made up, bit of pap, used to enslave man to his own dismay....prove me wrong.

  There is no proof, evidence indicating, proof, none. There was no tv, no video, just written text which could easily be manipulated and basically %%%%%% with.

  In a balance of probabilities I think that it's plausible that he did exist. One thing I've learned through all this is that people generally believe what they want to believe and seek evidence to support their belief system, while ignoring the contrary. Hell I did it for twenty years as a witness!!.
