I think they are still in the denial stage. They think everyone else is ok, its just happening in their congregation. If you read the watchtower and literature everything is just tickety boo, this is just one big loving happy family.

Current Witnesses That Bitch, Moan & Complain
by minimus ini think there's a lot of them.
they realize that they are not being treated so good.
they might've been elders and ministerial servants or pioneers or bethelites in the past.

When 1 parent leaves the truth. What matters have had to take a stand on?
by jambon1 inin my own case, i have let my wife take the kids to the meetings and on the field service.
i have issues with even this but for peace sake, i have let her do it without complaining.
but over what matters have you put your foot down with your spouse?

Difficult one, definitley no infant baptism, should be at least 16 or 18 and even then should be able to answer searching questions about the faith and see both sides of the story.

Was Pastor Russell a Freemason, really?
by PinTail inwas pastor russell a freemason?.
by having clearly and plainly discouraged membership in freemasonry, it should be clear that pastor russell was not, nor ever was, associated with the free masons.
those who have accused him have done so with the hope that it will somehow show pastor russell had occult connections, and as a result would invalidate everything he taught.

If Russell was so close to God, why was he a racist. He taught that black people are an inferior race. Yeah I know they all thought that back then but if you are the faithfull and discreet slave then you should know better shouldn't you?
Nostrodamus got more predictions right than he did. What does it matter anyway? What impact will he have on anyones lives today? has it made anyone more richer, happier or a better human being?

Really what does it matter whether he was a mason or not, he was still a false prophet. All of his predictions were false.

Do you think the elders or the society know....
by B_Deserter inthat a lot of the people on these sites are people in the organization.
well, they probably assume that.
but i wonder if they are aware of people that have been going to these sites for years but just staying in for various reasons.

Good subject, I think there are a LOT of people on the inside who know it's all BS. I personally know of two people in my own congo, one of them doesn't want to be dis-inherited by his ageing parents (money is very important to him). The other is just a plain old coward and can't leave because of god knows what reasons.
I'm still recognised as part of the congregation but I have no fear whatsoever in telling my views. Just the other week I had a toe to toe argument with the book study overseers wife after the group about the who pedo issue. She asked me what I thought of the revelation book and I told her I thought it was a load of absolute drivle. Amazing thing is it seems the elders couldn't care less. Her husband won't even listen to our conversations for fear he might hear something he might have to act on. This is an organization in crisis, no doubt about it, the denial is being ramped up to breaking point as far as I can see.
The irony is the organization itself is responsible for the huge army of dissenters within it's ranks because they've made it very difficult for people to just leave. With the huge workload placed on the few remaining and ageing elders, they haven't got the energy to be bothered with people like me who will gnaw away at others in the congregation. So far I've managed to open the eyes of at least 3 people and I'm working on others as I talk to them. Easy pickings, just show genuine concern and interest for people and they will listen to you and tell you their concerns, something they don't get from the organization.

It's official (family-wise) I am an apostate
by RisingEagle ini was having lunch last week with my mom and she dropped the a-word on me.
my mom started off the lunch speaking about what a disappointment i was to her that my wife and i had put our little girl into a christian private school.
i posted on an earlier thread that my wife and i now have a 6 year old beautiful little girl that we're adopting.

Well done Eagle, sounds like that little girl is lucky to have you as parents. I'm finding too it's best to be true to yourself in these situations, trying to make the glove fit for someone else will only cause inner conflict and turmoil as many witnesses are finding out. Keep up the good work.

It hurts: How does it feel to leave a cult?

Another WOW topic:
It hurt when I finally left the SUPPOSED TRUTH. I thought that I was weak. I thought that I did not have the moral fiber to be a part of God's organization.
I thought that I was pond scum. That I could not live up to the WTS codes. I was a whore, they were not!
Then I found out about the UN/NGO controversy. They were the biggest whores.
This fact gave me liberation from the mind control and obsession that I was the weak one. It pi$$ed me off that they can hold such a high moral ground when they are just a bunch of f'ing whores.
May they rot in hell, or whereever.
JK
Same here - Respect

I went to see Prince in concert at the O2 in London last week. I didn't really want to go, he's not my thing but my wife wanted to see him so I went along for the ride. He is actually an extremely talented guitarist and pianist and he can sing too. Quite impressive but still not my thing. There was no mention of Jehovah or Witnesses but he did say something about following God and the bible.
A friend we went with, an ex witness related this story to me. - Prince came to the London Twickenham district assembly this year while staying in London for his concerts. He arrived in a powder blue suit with high heels and 2 bodyguards. He sat in 'Admin' which is the societies misleading title for the VIP section, the chairmans office where the bethel big wigs and zone overseers sit. I've been up there with my ex father in law the bethel doctor brother ............ There are comfy sofas, tea and coffee making and kitchen facilities, carpets and a huge glass window with great views. You can't enter without a pass. There are two brothers by the lift and by the door to stop the riff raff getting in. But how did Prince get access? It reminds me of the lesson that Jesus gave about giving priveleges to those with money or status. It seems that some in bethel are just as star struck as those they condemn in the world.
Isn't religion great.
