Good point ninja, washington is full of occult symbolism, At the ground level each side of the monument measures 55.5 feet long, which is equal to 666 inches. The height of the obelisk is 555.5 feet, which is equal to 6,666 inches.

My nana passed away tonight.
by Es ini receieved an sms of my mum saying nan was slipping away i literally called as soon as i got the msg, and she had already passed away.
things were looking up for a bit, we were managing to get some water and food into her and she had accepted to have a tube put in her, they tried last night but it was unsuccessful.. when i saw her on saturday it was the most alert she was, sunday she had very laboured breathing and tonight when my mum go into the hosp, my nan was no responsive, it was like she just waited for my mum to come in and then she passed away.. im in shock, even tho i knew it was coming it was looking hopeful for a bit there.. thanks for your support.

My son and daughter...making me proud...
by Billzfan23 inmy 9 year old son decides back in april that the memorial is going to be his last meeting at the kingdomhall.
so... he refuses to go to the meetings, and when forced to go - leaves the meeting right after the song and starts walking to my mother-in-law's house a couple of blocks away where he knows my sypathetic father-in-law (a raging catholic, not a jw) will have sympathy on him and say "nevermind, just leave him here with me when you go to the meetings from now on.
" the next week - the garbage man visits to collect the trash in front of the house - and my son had taken all of his meeting clothes, pants, suit jackets, ties, dress socks, etc... and left them all curbside for the trash man to pick up.

Observation on Things Not said.
by Sparkplug inhave you ever noticed that around here more is said when people are silent than when they are talking sometimes.
not anything in particular, i just noticed that when people get silent, there usually is a reason.
hard times, drama, can't comment...etc.

Boundaries
by The-Borg init's amazing but since leaving the borg, i've learned to set proper boundaries.
it's had a big impact on my personal happiness.
this may sound stupid to some people, because 'worldly people' have and respect these boundaries natuarly.

It's amazing but since leaving the borg, I've learned to set proper boundaries. It's had a big impact on my personal happiness. This may sound stupid to some people, because 'worldly people' have and respect these boundaries natuarly. But being a witness those boundaries are blurred and I think this can be a source of great angst.
Examples:
gossip, I just won't tolerate it anymore. You want to gossip about me fine, but I WILL confront you if i hear about it.
guilt, I'm not motivated by it. If guilt gets you up in the morning great. But I don't need it in my life thanyou, be on your way.
my private business is just that, my private business. I dont care how righteous you are, how many hours in field service you do. If you're married to an elder. Its none of you're business. And you know what? I don't need to know you're private business either.
What boundaries have you discovered or set since leaving or did you always have them?

Local Needs tonight
by metaspy inhere is something i thought was a bit weird.. tonights local needs was about depression.
not so much in how we can help those with depression, but about getting over it.. the brother used the scriptures about elijah and the widow to show who was relying on jehovah.. he mentioned how the widow was obviously depressed.
then showed how she should have been like elijah.. as i sat there and listened, i realized his underlying message:.

Witnesses are great for encouragement. When I re-married after my divorce a sister came up to me and said 'congratulations on your wedding, if it doesn't work out this time we know your bad after all'
Another classic was - 'your being used by satan' - gee thanks.
My personal favourite was related to me by a close friend who had been suffering from severe depression for some time, he also lived on a main road so everyone could see when he was at home because his car was still parked. Obviously he didn't work much during this period. One observant sister on seeing his car was there a lot worked out the reason for his depression, she duly paid him a visit and told him the reason he was so depressed was because he was a lazy scumbag. He actually sees the funny side of it now.
