What is God doing?

this is a genuine question... i mean no disrespect to anyone...especially to my heavenly father....but i have this gnawing question in my head that just wont go away...... okay... with that out of the way.... let's take the holly and jessica story that hit the headlines in the uk recently...two innocent kids, murdered and left to decompose in a filthy mud trench....;or worse than that, the story about the two people in the usa who have been busted for running an internet child porn site that features pix of children...babies as young as five months... five months!!!!!!

!.....being sexually abused..... if i start to think about what these poor kids went through it drives me mad!

and then if i start to think about what some kids are still going through even as i write..... welli can hardly bear it!.

A Universal law...... Cause and Effect.
I see effects all around me every single day...Life is all it's abundance and complexityand beauty. So what is the Cause? The Law in Universal.. it can't be sidestepped or ignored. And all the 'rabid' (to use your own vocabulary) comments that you spit out can't alter it!
For every effect there HAS to be a cause!

As proof of the existence of a god, the above hypothesis has a major flaw. If everything has a cause, then what caused god? If you can accept a god as the "First Cause", the exception to your "Universal Rule", then why couldn't you just take it forward one step and postulate a causeless Universe, either one that was always there or one that sprang into existence from nothing?

Generally speaking, antibiotics don't destroy HUMAN LIFE, which is the main goal of the "morning after pill."

Cancer treatments destroy human life. They destroy many more human cells than the morning after pill. Are you opposed to those treatments as well?

The "Mornng After" pill was rushed into the market here without adequate testing, many cases of hemoraging and several deaths have been reported in connection with this.

It's been available in Europe for years, and is available over the counter in many countries. It's considered safe by the medical community here. Few, if any, deaths have been reported from its use. The only objections to its use are "moral" ones.

A) It, in my opinion, destroys life.

So do antibiotics.

B) what's to prevent some body from "slipping a mickey" to his girlfriend, wife, etc?

Nothing. The same is true of any medicine.

C) It places the wrong emphasis and takes away responsibility for the sex act. BEFORE sex occurs is the right time to make reproductive choices.

Perhaps. That's why it's called emergency contraception. It's also useful for rape victims who don't want to become pregnant with their rapist's child.

The morning-after pill prevents implantation of a zygote. Is there any ethical difference between that and the partial-birth abortions you described?

I correctly accused skeptics of having abandonment issues which include fear of further disappointment and mistrust and disrespect of God. It is because of these skeptics (unbelievers) are not willing to accept any evidence as credible that supports his existence.

Zecharaiah, continually reasserting your position doesn't count as evidence. Saying that everyone who believes differently to you do has psychological issues, only makes you look pathetic and unprepared for debate.

The only way I can ever hope to recover those who have given up their belief in God is to force them to stop deluding themselves about why the disbelieve. It has nothing to do wth evidence. I as a believer am very willing to admit my opinions are facillitated by what I desire to believe. The thing is to recognize it is the same for everyone. Belief is a exercise of choice.

Nothing could be further from the truth. The only way you're going to convince anybody of anything is if you stop thinking that people who don't share your beliefs are "deluding themselves" and consider their claims on their merits. You may choose to believe whatever you consider beneficial, but many people, myself included, believe what the available evidence compels them to believe.

I certainly am not going to change my opinion as I have weighed the pros and cons and found no benefit in unbelief

Belief should not be about a cost-benefit analysis. You should believe something only because it is true, not because it seems "better" than the alternatives in some subjective way.

No, a seperate DNA strand establishes that the baby is not part of the woman's body, but rather seperate. The fact that scientifically the baby meets the definition of life establishes that the child is a seperate human life.

So having unique human DNA gives an organism full human rights? Or is more required?

Zecharaiah, could you consider the possibility that maybe, just maybe, not all those who disagree with your belief system do so because they're sulking, but because they require evidence for their beliefs. That way, maybe you'll be able to have a rational discussion and people will be more inclined to listen to what you have to say. Who knows, you might even learn something.

DNA and the Lemba and other Africans

something that has been known for years, yet jehovah's witnesses' pictures in their books never depict this.

sable, your claims are getting increasingly bizarre and incomprehensible. The Shulamite maiden must have been black because she talks "the way Black Folk talk to each other"? Are you serious?

Rather than simply choosing to believe something, why don't you check the source:

In Song of Solomon 1:6 the Shulamite maiden says: "Do not stare at me because I am dark". Not black, dark, (some translation use "swarthy") seemingly something she is embarrassed about. And why is she dark? Because she was born that way? No, "for the sun has burned my skin". What makes you think she was black?

I would like to respond to Funky Derek. Africa is an extremely large continent. Before the European of the 15th century entered, Africa ran the gamut in hair color, hair texture, eye color and skin color. Africa is a continent of variety extraordinaire. They have the greatest number of natural red heads in the world. Africans call them 'copper heads'. The eyes go from blue to honey brown to coffee brown. The skin can be cream colored, yellow, tan, brown, and black and smooth as satin among the stars.

So am I to take from this that when you said "black" you meant African? (You seem to have been using the words almost interchangeably). If you're saying that people with red hair, blue eyes and cream colored skin can be called black, then what's your point exactly?

One questions, though, is of course if it is not possible for spirits of some kind to stimulate areas in the body, and thus produce such phenomena? If some doctor theu electrical stimula can do that, surely a spirit can also?

Presumably, if we postulate malevolent spirits with supernatural powers, they can do this too, but it seems completely unnecessary if these phenomena have a physical explanation. It's like saying that spirits use the cold virus to cause colds. The whole process works just as well without bringing spirits into the picture.
