a friend and i got into an interesting conversation late friday as we were eating a late dinner, which needless to say caused some amusing eavesdropping by neighboring tables.
we got on the subject of jesus and the new testament gospels.
He probably spent his teens sulking, listening to music and masturbating frequently. In his twenties he drank too much and drifted aimlessly between various women and jobs. When he hit thirty, he realised he'd better get his act together and do something with his life.
Or maybe that's just me....
didn't have much money...everyone wanted to come, so i reluctantly invited many.
we had lots of good food and nice bottles of wine, white and red.
so it cost a bit to set up....my soon to be wife said: "don't worry, your a pioneer, i'm sure the brothers will be generous with their gifts!

i heard this morning the "who will be saved (n 126) " public talk.
the speaker raised the point of age baptism and he confirmed what has been pointed out a couple of times on this board, namely that, according to a trend which seems to be fairly recent within the wts, people don't have to be adults to decide they want to become jws and get baptism.
the only two examples which the speaker selected were 2 children : manaseh who, at age 12, promoted idolatry, and king yoshia who restored jehovah's worship as soon as he came to power at age 8 !
Strange how JWs will think a pre-teen is old enough to get baptised but not old enough to decide they don't want to be a JW..

i've gone to many a witness dinner where i would bring one or two nice wines, hoping we would have some with dinner.
{to numb the boring conversations} only, to find the couple say "thanks" put it in the cabnet....and serve up lemonade..... and it's not an alcohol thing....two different brothers brought out there own "home made" vino instead, which taste like a mixture of fruit punch and vineger!

You shouldn't expect your particular bottle of wine to be served. It may not go with the meal, or the hosts may have enough wine that the guests simply never get round to yours. But for them to take your wine and then only serve lemonade is extremely rude. The only possible exception is if the hosts haven't got any wine, you're the only person who brought some and there isn't enough to go around. In that case, they're just really bad hosts, and you should decline future invitations from them on the basis that they don't know the first thing about having a dinner party. You can burn the food, seat people next to their exes, server red wine with fish or whatever but you should never ever ever not have enough alcohol to go around.

a friend (who no longer attends meetings) told me about an incident about seven years ago in north carline involving one of her male friends.
this friend has ceased believing the society's diatribe for some time and was only staying in it in order to associate with friends and family.
he had visited a friend in a town about 30 miles away and heard a sunday talk from one of that congregations elders.

3am what could I see at that time and less I had a flood light.....ha ha
Sunrise was just before 5:00 and the photo shoot started shortly afterward so you could get a clear view of everything, wobbly bits and all! As we were spread out on a harbour wall, the passengers of several ferries got an unexpected first view of the Emerald Isle!
