God is Jesus

i am looking for more scriptures that can prove to a jehovah witness that god is jesus, and jesus is god.i found only one verse so far in 1jo:5:20: and we know that the son of god is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his son jesus christ.

this is the true god, and eternal life.. if you know more scriptures that say directly that god is jesus please tell me the verses the jhw will see plainly that jesus is no way an angel, and he is jehovah god almighty.. my friend said if i can prove by the bible only that jesus is god he will leave the jhw society, and he will know that they are teaching lies and they would be to him a dogma religious sect.

my friend gave me a booklet called should you believe in the trinity?, and is jesus christ the almighty god.

I heard this before when I was argueing with the JHW , and they said this should be cut out of the living bible ,even though the bible says:2Tm:3:16: (All scripture )is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

But the book of Mark was written decades after 2 Timothy. Surely neither Paul nor his audience would have considered it scripture. Or does it mean that anything ever written, past or future, true or false, is to be consdidered scripture?

Fortunately such curses - like much else in the bible - are only imaginary.

Real god name: Jehovah, Yahweh??

i just today found this forum and read these discussion in here, some good stuff found, thanks.

reason why i'm here is, because one of my friend is jehovah witness, and we have discussed many things.

i myself don't know very much about bible.

The most bizarre thing is the WTBTS teaching that some form of the divine name was used in the New Testament but disappeared from ALL extant copies. They also simultaneously teach that their god protected the bible from any copying errors or deliberate modifications. Why he allowed all trace of his all-important name to be removed from the earliest surviving manuscripts is never discussed.

This is a statement made not by Wiggleworth, but it is from Jesus Christ HIMSELF saying this will happen and shall happen, people will recover, by laying on of hands.

Well, if some guy who's been dead for two thousand years allegedly made that claim in a dubious addendum to a book written over a century after his death, well that's good enough for me. I'm off to play with snakes. [8>]

I don`t know why Wiggleworth could not heal his own family, but maybe his faith fell looking at his own family like peter looking at his situation when he was walking on the water.
Peter took his eyes off of Jesus, and he started to sink, so could this be by WiggleWorth.

Or it could be - and this is a long shot but work with me here - that he had no powers at all and that he never cured anyone, and in fact, that diseases are caused by bacteria and viruses rather than by some evil invisible guy, and are best treated by doctors who have spent years at medical school, and not by quick-fix snake oil salesmen.

What do JWs think this means?

i'd like to know what jws think that poor in spirit means.. as in 'blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven'.

The New World Translation renders that verse (Matthew 5:3) as follows:

"Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them."

No idea how they justify or interpret that.

they feel their beliefs are most obviously inspired of god.

How's your Health?

despite economic growth in the inner city, health care is lagging far behind.

perhaps this story does have a positive ending (south central l.a. was a particular hot spot during the l.a. riots):.

the residents of the area that includes the south-central neighborhood have the highest numbers of deaths due to diabetes, heart disease and lung cancer in the county.

If the poor can't get prenatal care while the rich can have their babies vision repaired in utero (ok, I am talking out of my behind there, but it's quite likely possible) there is a problem.

Only for the poor. And there's no more of a problem than there would be if advanced medical care was not available to the rich. Those who can afford the latest medical treatment should surely be allowed to avail of it to give their children the best start in life. Those who cannot afford prenatal care might be better advised to use contraception.
