when i was a 'dub, i beleived that faith was the hebrews 11 thing, but since i have put aside that way of thinking and no longer believe god or believe the bible to be anything more than a collection of human history and philosophy, i tend to think in terms of faith being no more than the dictionary definition: .

1 a : allegiance to duty or a person : loyalty b (1) : fidelity to one's promises (2) : sincerity of intentions.

2 a (1) : belief and trust in and loyalty to god (2) : belief in the traditional doctrines of a religion b (1) : firm belief in something for which there is no proof (2) : complete trust.

What did Jesus ever say or do that was so wise? That "consider the lily" stuff was hardly mind-blowing - or useful - and the "golden rule" was plagiarised from Confucius and others.

God is Jesus

i am looking for more scriptures that can prove to a jehovah witness that god is jesus, and jesus is god.i found only one verse so far in 1jo:5:20: and we know that the son of god is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his son jesus christ.

this is the true god, and eternal life.. if you know more scriptures that say directly that god is jesus please tell me the verses the jhw will see plainly that jesus is no way an angel, and he is jehovah god almighty.. my friend said if i can prove by the bible only that jesus is god he will leave the jhw society, and he will know that they are teaching lies and they would be to him a dogma religious sect.

my friend gave me a booklet called should you believe in the trinity?, and is jesus christ the almighty god.

There isn't one. But it's worth reading Revelation 21 in the NWT to see the way they try to get around it. Their tortuous use of quotation marks to make it seem like someone other than Jesus is "The First And The Last" is mind-boggling.

ok, now before you read this and speculate please note i knew very little if any of mayan culture or pink amazon dolphin.

some of you here on the board know about my dreams but i feel it is time to get some feedback from the rest of you.

i have other dreams, but am far too lazy to type them up.

What is it about the pattern if impulses in the human brain that make us self-aware? Not WHERE is this center of conscience. But WHY is it?

Why, as in what purpose does it serve, or why as in, what is the mechanism by which it works?

Could it be that the pattern of impulses that carry our personality and ability to be self-aware can match a pattern of someone who lived before?

It seems unlikely. There are so many possible combinations that the likelihood of two brains having the same configuration "even for a moment" is so improbable that it would never happen even once in the lifetime of the universe.

Is this completely a red herring and something else entirely could be at work?

It could be that nothing at all is at work. As there is no objective evidence for the existence of psychic powers, why try to find possible explanations?

Yes it is. Pedophilia is a sexual preference for children. As the term is commonly used in the media, it means actual acts of sexual abuse prepetrated on children. How is that not a sex issue?
