Damage Control

i'm going to the assembly tomorrow to see my 13 yr old niece take the big plunge.

the most important day of her life.

how could i miss that?

Just for posterity you could move in close and record the 'intiation ritual', then use it in the next 5 years at her JC to prove she was a minor and was legally incapapble of agreeing to a membership.

Local Needs.

this week, my husband and myself were the subject of local needs.

our older children were there...we stayed away.

reported by my sons... it started thus.."do not leave the organization!

Be Strong, stand firm and steadfast as 'honest-hearted and rightly disposed ones' are hearing the call to flee the ~~Organization~~ Corporation.

By the way if you have openly DAd yourselves, they can't DF you. Make sure you send a signature on delivery letter stating your disassociation.

I believe.

Too much in the universe is connected not to be put together by some creator.

I did want to say that I can see the appeal of atheism after the WTS.

I can see manipulation by men in the Bible.

As a Christian; Christ's yoke is light, just believe, be faithful, be moral as possible, be forgiving, be kind and charitable, and share the good news (how is not specified, and up to the person).

WT-Says Moms Should not Work

the feb 1, 2008 wt has an article on p. 28 called finding fulfillment as a mother.

the article basically states that moms should not work outside of the home but stay at home with their kids to teach them things about jehovah.

it also states that moms that want to work outside the home full-time do so not out of economic necessity but to boost their self worth, to obtain financial independence or to pay for luxuries.

This is being preached at the Assemblies as well.

Other things being mentioned:

1. Not putting your children in school until mandated by law. (no PreK or K)

a) In the "experiences" presentation they had a homeschooling mother of 4, who is a full-time pioneer.

2. Your kids should stand out in a crowd among peers as JWkids (dress like the 50's)

3. Be aware of you adult dress (again 50's)

4.. Going to college for money is materialism! (Ha Ha I get a free pass, I love to learn)

5. Are your kids using WT books for bookreports, sharing in the preaching work at school?

6. Push them into "service" instead of extra-curricular activities.

7. All forms of secular entertainment is from Satan! The FDS has warned you already but many of you are not heeding this 'lifesaving' advice, and see your children are becoming rebellious because of video games and competitive sports!

7. Same old stuff as the early 1980's, which is were my deep doubts started.

I noticed many were tuning out instead of nodding their heads.
