  The Governing Body has to Become the Faithful & Discreet Slave

  the growing ranks of the anointed are a threat to their power.

  today's watchtower made it clear that jehovah uses the governing body, no mention of the faithful & discreet slave.. i think they need new light on this in the next year or two..

  What Made You Question "The Truth"?

  in the the early 1970's, i used to enjoy going to assemblies, conventions and hear special talks given by bethel heavies.. in those days, we were believers and we applied ourselves as "ministers" with pride.. once the "end" was obviously not within our "generation", many of us started losing interest.. we started to think more critically.

  it took a long time but once you start recognizing the bullsh*t, it's hard to stay in and truly believe at the same time.. .

  What Made Me Question"The Troof"?

  I stumbled onto JWN....

  Was given opportunity to download older publications, encouraged to review the"'Finished Mystery" ...

  If I had never accidently clicked onto JWD that day.....I would be sitting in my seat right now frustrated but steadfast in my dedication instead of outside on the curb popping onto JWN....its a nice night btw...

  For those who live in Texas: The Focus is on Rachel Marie Blasingame

  rachel marie blasingame then 16 years old, died in a horrific accident in 2003. the truck driver who killed her was dwi.

  her parents julie and guy blasingame, with state support, put up a sign that read "in memory of rachel blasingame.

  Such a sad loss....

  I have experienced this matter personally and support the right of a state or county to set limits.

  I also understand her loved ones weren't emotionally prepared to see it removed and respect their desire to challenge the limits as they continue to grieve.

  Well I am still 'in' but conscious class....

  With my kids I used the same techniques I used to inculcate them with the Troof...

  When I ask questions they are slanted toward personal opinion versus WT status quo.

  I also made good use of all the historical references that were being highlighted in the WTs at the time to introduce doctrinal development.

  Each child has their own spin on which JWism they choose to keep and those they choose to discard.

  They are happy nominal JWs (and so are their best JW-buddies).....such is the 'privilege' of having born/raised JWparents vs ConvertJWparents....

  Guess that is the future of the WTS in Westernized countries.... cultural JWs more than strict-adherence JWs....

  FS in my area has changed so much since I joined JWN 5 years ago....

  Even the assignments are paltry....we were assigned a 'neighborhood' that would normally be a single morning FS job and told to work it no more than 6 weeks!

  Sister and I did a tag/bag job (I swapped mags/tracts for makeup catalogs for some friends) ...she and other sister never even got out of the vehicle.

  Tomorrow we are going to a movie instead....

  We used to totally cover our territory within 3 months....like serious knocking cover.

  Now we seem to lolligaggle and only claim to cover by Jan, goof, paper for Memorial and continue goofing through territory until a new season arrives....I was told I was only one of a few who were 'zealous' during our DC campaign (and I dropped those invites off at the recycling center).

  Knocking on doors on weekday mornings is effective... how?

  so my boyfriend sometimes goes out on service on weekday mornings.

  (he usually works evenings.

  ) he said that in three hours out there one day last week, not one person answered the door and the only person he saw was a door to door salesman.

  I avoid weekend FS like the plague...

  It has been more about 'busywork' vs conversion in my area for sometime...

  this article also briefly questions whether it is really safe in the modern world to engage in this form of proselytizing.. it's certainly interesting to hear an outsider's perspective on the repetitive nature of the preaching work, even though jws would argue that this is an isolated case.. .

  I always wondered how the foreign language congo operated territory wise beyond our reports of foreign speaking households we run across.

  Take for example the 5 French congregations in Texas... (Austin, Abilene, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio).....is the territory 'local' or circuit or district wide?
