Didn't I just suggest to stop analyzing stuff to death? You're all sucking the fun out of life. It's a great story, now go out for a walk or a bike ride.

just thought i would stop in, say hi, and get your thoughts on this.. since leaving the jws i have tried to be open to all ideas regardless of how different it is from the way i was raised.

by blueviceroy ini ask myself which is more harmful slavish devotion to chemicals (which is openly discouraged) or slavish devotion to a system of beliefs which is most often encouraged .
i understand the motivations behind doing something that defies common sense and fighting with your last bit of will to continue on a certain course no matter what your concious says.
us recovering from addiction understand it completely.

It only takes 1 famous person to do something stupid to get endless attention. I think that's because we enjoy people falling from grace.
Now you indicat that 4% of the US population is JW. Does someone have any figures whether this is their peak or are they able to recruit faster than they are losing.?

is it best to decrease them gradually or go once a month?

That comment above that referrs to "worldly people" really is starting to irritate me. Just how can one be on this planet and not be on this world? If life is so wonderful on the "other side" then I urge them to check it out. What are they afraid of? Maybe, just maybe it's a bunch of BS. Bunch of freaking cowards if you ask me. Does than not irritate anyone else? Make them sound like they are special. As if this place is accepting applications from liars, murderers, and the rest.
Sorry when I was referred to that by my JW friend I was as unhappy as one could get. Told him off that day.

Maybe the problem is that you are trying to analyse it ad infinitum. Don't waste you mind on that. No one anywhere on this planet could possibly know ALL that there is to know.
The only thing I can assure you of is that we exist in this timeframe. Everything on this planet that exists had to be created somewhere, somehow. So therefore there must be a creator of this. But how can someone who was never there have the slightest clue how it really started?
Stop analysing it to death. It just takes the fun out of life. You are doing fine. I look at flowers and bees and spiders, and admire these and other things. I teach my kids to look at them and wonder. Just a little.

As it stands now, everyone believes their god is better, or the only god. Sadly if we remove God from the equation, there would be no wars, because evereone would finally be equal. No more I'm better than you. My JW friend thinks he's the cock of the walk-an arrogance that is unbecoming an adult.

Power = money. Trust only yourself. It was interesting that a few planes were still flying Arabs out of the country.
Now on the other hand, I trust the Nation of Islam musc less. Imagine requiring someone to kill an infidel to get into heaven. The good news is the 72 virgins. The bad news is how many mothers-in-law you'll end up with!!!
