i think most do what they must simply to continue their social and family life..
I'm with you, leavingWT, anyone who will die for the org is commited. Or let their children die, of course.
I'm sure any one of them would go to prison instead of give up that 15 minutes a month of field service, or join the military, or vote.
They may be 'just squeaking by' by their own standards, but they will make the commital sacrifices when needed.

It sounds like you have a great compromise going on. I wouldn't mess with what you have. She may not suffer as much from the extreme paranoia and mental problems that are common to most JWs, since you are a grounding force in her life. Though, you will find a lot of information that will help you understand some of the 'quirks' that may appear from her JW surroundings.
I'm happy that you two have made a tough situation work. I am ROman Catholic, now, and it causes a lot of grief in my family. I do have hope, though, that someday they will stop trying to get me back in 'the truth' and start just being family again.

I understand that Stephen. I have moved on, but my parents are still in so it is interesting to me what new 'light' they are seing shown. It seemed odd to me and I wanted to know if anyone knew what that meant.

i find it interesting that i posted about 16 days ago concerning whether i should write a letter and.

Look at this carefully and weigh the consequences.
Either have your children think you are vindictive, but still have the choice to talk to you, or get df'ed by writing a confession of a df'able offense and make it so they are forbidden to speak with you.
If your ex tried hard to get you df'ed before and did not succeed, what makes you think that she will not push for it again, this time with proof?
JWs like nice squared off corners and no loose threads. She wants to be free to remarry a JW. Being able to say that her 'ex' is DF and a bad guy makes her te JW equivalent of a virgin.
You left the org, you are free of their 'rules'

mine was that faggy pink "listening to the great teacher" book.
my mother tried to teach both me and the neighbor's worldly kid lessons from that book, and you know how embarrasing it is for a boy to be put straight by a pink book?.
