  Is it POOR PARENTING to raise a child into a religious faith?

  or, by the same token, to raise a child to be atheist?

  surely we should teach our children how to think, not what to think.

  equip them with the mental tools they need to be able to work things out for themselves.

  Yes , teach HOW to think ,

  I love my son so much ,I would never ever corrupt his brain with beliefs.

  I have taught him to understand himself and by doing this he has no trouble understanding anything else.

  He sees the world in clarity for what it is , his "how" and "why" work very well.

  Need information concerning my infant child

  hello all, i have been attending meetings for about two months, but have been reading about the truth for a year now.

  our firstborn was on oct 7th, this year ;) however, my wife is in a c.o.g.i.c.

  and because im not as humble as most, i often argue with her about the lies being told in her babylonian church.

  I understand your concern , and share my concern with your choice of beliefs , Have you ever educated yourself about all the major religions in the world ?

  Before you decided on this one did you do any objective research or did you just join it without any thought?

  Do you have any experiential knowledge on the veracity of your chosen beliefs or do you just accept them as they are given to you because someone told you it was true?

  I wish you the very best in life as fellow human and I hope you will consider my questions.

  The Bibles source, have you bothered to look for yourself?

  the bible came to be as the result of scholars desire to compile a complete understanding of humankind at the time ( or so i have gathered in my search ).

  it's foundations lie in judaism , has anyone bothered looking at the actuall root documents and attempted to gain some insite there?.

  i have been searching for the roots of modern religion , it's always been a hobby but i'm begining to get a little more serious as i uncover more and more.. we have a rich and varied pool of documents that are left out of the bible and should be perused with the same intent as the bible is studied , finding some truth .. accepting what our culture has assimilated for us as is , well , thats not in anyones best interests , not if you value truth and genuine understanding.

  Accepting what our CULTure has assimilated for us as is , well , thats not in anyones best interests , not if you value truth and genuine understanding

  I would encourage everyone to seek beyond your experience, beyond the confines of a conditioned existence, and look to the source.

  Fearlessly search all religions and all philosophies , understanding is such a freedom, it is a blessing , it can't be found in a rigid mind set that fears the unknown .

  I would have to say that it is the fact that the Wretchtower org. Perpatrates an image of doing the work of God .

  But in all actuallity they appear to be doing the work of thier imagined advisery ,Satan.

  The only evil on this planet is the evil perpatrated by man against man in the name of "whatever"

  The only good on this planet is the altruism that man has for fellow man.

  So hiding facts , protecting sick and dangerous individuals , outright lies, scare tactics , mental abuse , money laundering, stealing peoples birthrights as human beings.

  Perhaps the dehumanizing of others should be mentioned , all done under the guise of spreading the hope, in fact this repressive life style robs the joy from life and turns a human being into something else

  I don't find much JWs do, not a" worst aspect/action"

  how many non-jw's know exactly what the jw's 'kingdom message' consists of?.

  i had a jw tell me that they are known for preaching the 'kingdom message' so i asked him the same thing i am asking the fine people on jwd..

  I'm a "never was " but I did pay attention to the line they were selling me , and my understanding of the kingdom message was the story of Gods government and leadership after all the heathen unrepentant sinners were destroyed

  apart from the comic value of this interview in which frank zappa presents his views on censorship, i found it interesting that he was mocked for suggesting that the us was set on a course that was leading to a 'fascist theocracy'.
