so, when does the 2008 yearbook get released?
i remember years ago the yearbook would start production in the bindery about mid-november...but that was when it was a hardback and had the daily texts.
can we expect to see the annual report soon?
i have now read the jan 15-08 about 3 times.
every time that i do, i get madder and madder.
here are some things that i find disturbing.
I find every issue disturbing.
The WT study a few weeks ago gave a wonderful example of somebody who quit a good job and started selling ice cream from a cart on the street. The writers really live in another world of make believe.

i was talking to gumby today and he told me that one elder that he knows said: "...he heard a gb mention of some new light about the "generation".
he said the gb member said they now believe that scripture applied to only the annointed...".
have we had any discussions on jwd about this?
It's been recently noted that the borg will not publish their year end statistics in the WT anymore, I sense they must not look good
Did they give a reason why they weren't publishing it anymore?

The annual report will no longer appear in The Watchtower. Starting in 2008, it will appear as an insert in Our Kingdom Ministry as well as in the Yearbook. However, as indicated above, the study edition does include secondary articles. Although many of these will not be discussed at a congregation meeting, you are encouraged to read them carefully. They too contain spiritual food from "the faithful and discreet slave." -Matt. 24:45-47.

ok, so the may 1st wt says that elders aren't to question anyone who partakes.
but many of you have posted that they are about to rule change about the 144k... haven't they already changed the dogma if elders can't question... doesn't that mean anyone can partake?
so what changes are going to occur that are more shocking then the generation of 1935 thing and whatnot?.
are they now saying they'res no longer going to be a 144K
August 15, 1996 Watchtower in the following 'Questions From Readers" article.
Questions FromReadersThe reportsforsomeyearsshowthatthenumberpartakingoftheMemorialemblemsincreasedslightly. Doesthissuggestthatmanynewonesarebeinganointedwithholyspirit? There is good reason to believe that the number of 144,000 anointed Christians was complete decades ago. |
After 1966 until now, if one came to be of the annointed, they were replacing one who had fallen away. Period.
Now , if one comes to be of the annointed, they can be added to the current number without regard to any falling away or dying..
So it leaves it totally open ended when the calling of the 144K will be completed.
But they still hold to the number 144K.

in seeing a lot of posters threads , i feel i see many people who have been divorced at one time , and either have remarried or have stayed single .
i totally understand those who choose to stay single, as i was single for 6 years before i got married again !
as experts say, next to death it's one of the hardest experiences you'll go through !
I learned the hard way what 'too soon' means. NEVER, EVER make a new committment until you have allowed time to be sure what your relationship is with the ex-mate.

i sent an e-mail to someone with points showing how jw's miss the point of the parable.
i won't post it but if anyone wants to read it, you can pm me.. here is the reply from a supposed loyal , faithful witness.. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------.
i have had your email in my inbox for awhile now, and today i just had the chance to read it.
Mary
Thanks for the link.
That really IS an excellent article I had never seen.
I think this point is awesome---------IN RED
2 John 8-10) . . .. 9 Everyone that pushes ahead and does not remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God. He that does remain in this teaching is the one that has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to YOU and does not bring this teaching, never receive him into YOUR homes or say a greeting to him. . .
If the scripture at 2 John 10 were observed literally by Jehovah's Witnesses, they would be obliged to never invite anyone other than a Jehovah's Witness in good standing into their home, or ever speak a greeting to anyone other than a Jehovah's Witness.

the bible calls noah a preacher of righteousness.
however, it gives no indication that he undertook a global campaign to warn people of a coming flood of which they 'took no note'.. in gen chap 6 god gave noah very detailed instructions about building the ark.
in 6:18 and 7:1 he gave specific instructions about who to take into the ark.
Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment.
But not "Noah warned the world of a coming global flood

Why would you pick the prodigal son or disfellowshippment for a debate?
I have gotten to the point where I really don't care what they teach or do except where it has a bad effect on people's lives. An effect that is beyond their control.
If a person is trying to live a Christian life and is in fact doing so as well as the other JW's, and they are still shunned while the JC is waiting for more proof of repentance, I have a passion to help anyone I can to see that this is wrong.
I don't have a passion for most of the other stuff.
