I didn't!
I didn't even know I was supposed to.
Does that mean my baptism is invalid and I am not a JW?... if only.

i was in the service today (i know, i know... i know!)...
... and i was thinking, the problem here is the current spiritual points system we have in place.
you know what i am talking about.
Dear changeling,
This would be a nice recommendation to pitch our mediators, the Goberning Body. Come on, people, this was supposed to be a joke. Did you get it? Nah. I guess I am bad joker. Sorry.
About your question: Who says "the" service? I guess me and maybe other people that know just a tad of English. Sorry.

I was in the service today (I know, I know... I KNOW!)...
... and I was thinking, the problem here is the current spiritual points system we have in place. You know what I am talking about. You are spiritual if you just show up to the service. If you have ten ours you are instantly spiritual. Well, that's not fair. There, I said it. We need anew and improved spiritual points system. And this is what I propose... Keep in mind this is only a draft, but with your help we can present this to our mediators (The GB), for their consideration. OK. Here we go...
If you accumulate 25 or more points you are officially spiritual for a month, also you are free from the blood guilt for a month. In this new spiritual points system you will be able to move your extra points to the next month.
What do you think?

http://ffrf.org/quiz/bquiz.php.
we found this quiz after reading the book parenting beyond belief and sweetpea and i decided to take the challenge - afterall how difficult can 50 bible questions be for us born and brought up as jw's?.
our results were enlightening to say the least - we both scored 28/50 - not exactly brilliant although apparently above average.. take the quiz and post your results and comments..
Congratulations! You scored 40 correct out of 50!
40 - 50: Wow! You know more than a minister, priest, or rabbi!
-ootb rocks!
here it is guys.
this is what darth frosty was talking about in his post the other day (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/149460/1.ashx).
this is a collection of confidential letters from the watchtower society that were sent to the bodies of elders in the years 1981 through 2006. these are the letters that you were never meant to see or read.. there's all sorts of information in them ranging from the boring and mundian to instructions about how to handle child molesters.. many thanks to darth frosty and others (who i'm not sure can be named) who worked very hard and took risks to collect and scan the information.
Do you think I don't have things to read?!!! Man, you are worst than the WT. LOL. Kidding. Thanks a lot for the letters. I will give the a good use.

after an informal poll in my congregation (and many awkward responses) i found out that almost nobody had read the whole bible ever, not even the elders (surprise!).
brothers and sisters with 20, 30, 40 and 50 years as jws don't know what the bible says.
so, if god decides that a test is coming, will they pass it?
I think, like JH said, the JWs are so busy getting ready for and attending the meetings that they don't have time to read the Bible. Which doesn't make any sense, because if you really want to teach about the Biblie, like they say they do, they need to know what are they teaching about. Isn't it?
I remember a meeting few days ago about the importance of reading the magazines, The Magazines!!! not the Bible!!! the freaking magazines!!!!, because if you don't know what they say how do you will present them in the service.

And you? Did you read the whole Bible when you were a JW? If so, what happened after you did? Did it open your eyes?

there is evidence in the form of a lake drained by saddam hussein that a meteorite hit southern iraq about 2,000bc causing a big flood.
Actually it was Noah's fault. He left the water running.
happy new year to all :)
so i'm curious if anyone has further info/dirt on jaracz or any other gb members (former or current).
i know jaracz was publicly accused of molesting a young girl (now an adult).
Can somebody find those records? At least a proof that the case happened?!!! If this is true this is beyond outrageous!

so my sister-in-law, who is a pretty hardcore jw, showed me an email that looked like it had been passed around quite a bit, so i figured someone on here had probably seen it.
supposedley it's a picture from the movie "i am legend" where will smith is walking through new york and all the buildings in the background are in ruins except for the bethel building, which stands out, undamaged and clean.
i watched the movie and don't remember seeing anything like that so i just figured that some jw photoshopped it and sent it out to the jw community to show that the bethel building is protected by god even in a post apocaliptical world run over with zombie vampires.
Your brain see what you want to see and filter the rest. It is all about pattern recognition.
