BUT(and this is a big one), there is a "mandatory" Weekly Family Worship Night.
Just curious, how the hell do they make it mandatory?
i know the book study arrangement had been deleted in 2009, however, i am hearing that a similar meeting has been ressurrected and being called the "congregation book study".

"i feel like i've gone from owning a piece of paradise to owning a toxic waste dump" (reference to rev.
11:18, 'god will bring to ruin those ruining the earth').
You are so correct.
If one wants to carry that to extremes, one could say just about everyone living today is having a part in ruining the earth including the WTBTS and their buildings and cars and and printing plants.
just wanted to drop in and share the good news that i have been accepted to "the big city university" this fall.
sorry i haven't been around much lately, this is a busy semester as i'm just getting on with a really exciting life.. wow, has my life changed as i look back over the years!

Great news Billy, congrats
djeggnog invited me to start a new thread about the blood doctrine, which i am happy to do here.
his objection was my statement,.
"i've seen the blood video, a deceiving mix of scripture, fearmongering and pseudoscience, with plenty of lab coats in view.
if you've seen it what did you think of it?
does it seem like we might be missing something?.

As LWT said on another thread on this topic when he was quoting randy waters well, I'll let you look at it bottom of page
the blindness spreads.. as reported here:.
church membership for more than a third of the nation's largest churches took a hit last year while non-orthodox christian churches are on the rise, a new report on denominations finds.the southern baptist convention, the nation's second largest denomination, reported a .42 percent decline in membership to 16,160,088 members, according to national council of churches' 2011 yearbook of american & canadian churches, released monday.. still dominating the list of the nation's top 25 mainline churches is the catholic church, which posted a .57 growth at 68.5 million members.. but a few church bodies, regarded as cults by some christians, continue to increase in size.. ranked 20th in size, the jehovahs witnesses denomination reported a 4.37 percent gain in membership, with 1,162,686 members total.
seventh-day adventist church, which didn't make the top 25 list for at least the past two years, squeezed in the list this year in the 24th spot.
The increase has got to be primarily within the existing membership, IE, children starting to publish. New ones coming in just can't be that many.
They're hatching their own.
felt so sorry for them,i questioned the 1914 date and they schpeeled out the crap theyre told,i asked what they personally thaught about it,that stumped them as they dont have the remit to think for thewmselves.. i then offered them the 'crisis of concience ' book and they damn near ran out the garden!
poor people wish i could help them..
You realise they'll be dining out on that encounter for years to come. There's nothing like the frisson of excitement that comes from meeting a real apostate in the flesh.
That's so true. Depending on how exciting they make the story of their encounter with you, they will be considered war hero's. The one's who were confronted with the dark side and stayed in the troof to tell about it.
just getting into his books and i'm hooked.
he was a fantastic author.

as many of you know, i made the "big news" statement when kerry louderback-wood's scholarly article about watch tower's blood misrepresentation that was published in the journal of church and state was just about to be published.
i was excited about it because lives were at stake and weve never had such an article before to be able to use to show how the watch tower misrepresents the blood issue through its literature and people die because of it.
It was that article in the newspaper that talked about Kerry Louderback-Wood's tort on blood transfusions. After that I started asking questions of the other elders which eventually got me removed and got me looking beyond the Watchtower publications. It was a turning point in my life.
