I think the implication is that this is a bad business idea: If the convention were somewhere cheaper, then the R&F would have more available cash to put in the donation boxes.

Why does every prophecy has to have two (or more) completions?
by teel inyou know the standard jw doctrine, babylon the great, fall of jerusalem, kingship of david, jonah's life you name it, it has to have a "bigger completion" later.
some of these are actually mentioned in the bible - jesus being the bigger jonah, revelations mentioning the fall of babylon the great many years after the actuall babylon fell, jerusalem falling to babylon was just a precursor to jerusalem falling to the romans, which was just a precursor to... (what now?
meh... is old age creeping upon me?

Any wack-job can see prophecy "fulfilled" once. It takes a special kinda crazy to see multiple fullfilments. JW leaders are that "special".

Here's one (of many) "special" family:
I don't know if they were baptized, but they were definitely long time regular meeting attenders (20+ years).
Middle aged woman
30 something single daughter
Strange dude who lived with them (sleeping in Mom's room).
Dude and mom have been together for years, and then one day dude tells mom that he's in love with her daughter. He moves from mom's room to daughters room. They all live happily ever after as if nothing is strange about it.
Elders know they're all nuts and don't do anything about them. At least they show up at meetings. -

the schools minister, diana johnson, has confirmed the plans will be included in a blueprint for a new curriculum to be published in the next few weeks.. it follows a letter signed by scientists and science educators calling on the government to make the change after draft versions of the new curriculum failed to mention evolution explicitly.. if only i had been taught evolution at primary school it might have helped me to realise exactly how much rubbish my parents were spouting.. i would love to know how 'faith' schools are going to get round this?.
